I closed my eyes and heard the snarling of wolves outside the house. Lisa was visibly frightened but I held her close and took a knife from the mage.
"Is there anywhere safe you can take her to?" I asked the mage. She shook her head in negative.
"I am afraid her best option is with you. I stand no chance against werewolves. I cannot protect her. Your car is outside. Take it and leave."
She said to me and when I listened further, the snarling of the werewolves had stopped. I took Lisa's hand and slowly opened the door. The night was dark but I could see through it.
