I paced the floor waiting for 2 a.m. to strike. I had nine minutes and fifteen seconds to go. This was the night. I had my beautiful knives tucked in their sheath hidden on my person by Ms. Noel’s cloaking spell. And when the caretaker left out this morning, she left the door unlocked. Whoever this mysterious person was, she saw that I was in trouble and risked her own life by helping me.
