Elena's POV I didn't say anything. I couldn't. My throat tightened in that annoying way it does when someone's too kind to you and you weren't ready for it. He picked up a piece of pancake, spread some syrup on it like we'd done this a hundred times, and passed it to me. It was a stupid simple gesture that seemed to wrecked me. I smiled into my plate, biting the edge of the pancake this time instead of my lip. "Fine. Just for today," I whispered. He winked. "That's all I need." We ate in peace, syrup stealing kisses from my lips that Logan suspiciously watched every time I licked them clean.
