Jack Worth’s POV
After Bella had left, I decided I needed to go for a drive, at first I’d driven aimlessly, the traffic fairly quiet for Friday night.
Not sure what to do with my new emotion’s I’d left in a hurry, I’d never felt so unsatisfied after s*x, when had I start wanting more then that?
I’d slowed at a set of lights, looking to my left, I noticed the bustling crowd outside a nightclub.
I could use a drink, the light turned green and I made a decision indicating left, I slide into the underground car park.
I moved to the head of line, the security guard recognise me, waving me to him the front door where he stood.
“Welcome Mr Worth, it’s a pleasure to see you again.” The man smiled, I thought for a moment.
“Henry wasn’t it?” I said with a smile, the mans face almost split in half grinning.
“Yes it was sir.” The guard nods, he unclicks the rope, gesturing me past, I nod to the begrudged line as I do so.
Once inside, my heart beat quickens with the music, the first thing I notice as my eyes adjust is a group of women, beckoning me.
I offer a smile but then move towards the bar, I unconsciously scan the room, my eyes briefly land on two woman leaned together whispering they look drunk.
The thought makes me chuckle as I look away again, I wanted to be that far gone, and yet I wanted to see Kate again tonight.
I ordered a whiskey and coke, tapping the bar as I waited, my eyes floated back to the table where the women had been talking, to find it vacant.
I frowned, looking around, I thought I spotted one leaving when someone tugged on my arm, interrupting my focus.
I looked down to find a drunken bombshell blonde in a fitted red dress, I could tell by the darkened roots she wasn’t a natural blonde, I was about to shrug her off when something about her stopped me.
“Do I know you?” I ask the wobbling woman, who still held my arm.
“You do know me, Mr Worth.” She smiled smugly if a little lopsided.
Then I remembered she was the woman from the coffee shop across the road, the one chatting with Kate.
“Coffee shop girl!” I said, she release my arm clapping enthusiastically at my correct guess.
“How can I help you?” I ask with a polite smile as my drink arrives.
“Can you give me a lift home?” I almost spit my drink out, I cough to clear my throat.
“How about I call you a taxi?” I say instead, she pouts, then her eyes sparkle with an idea.
I just wanted to have a quiet drink.
“My house is 3 buildings up from Kate’s.. I can point it out for you.” She says with mischief in her voice, I feel my face break into a smirk, she knows how to speak my language
“Ok just let me enjoy one drink first..” I reply, trying to downplay my excitement.
After I’d finished the drink, I offered an arm to the girl, who’d informed me her name was Samantha.
I watched with amusement as she poked out her tongue to the group of women by the door, I offered them a nod at which their returned with fluttered eyelids and hair flicks.
Once back at the car, I opened the passenger door for her, she gets in quickly.
I close the door, straightening my jacket as I walked around the other side, I felt like my night was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
Kate POV
My phone buzzed as I got in the door. It was Sam.
Sam; 15 mins tops and he’ll be at your door!
I frowned, s**t that wasn’t barely enough time, drunk me hadn’t been smart enough to hail a taxi.
I ran to the bathroom, or at least wobbled, I stripped, turning the water on hot I barely let it adjust and I was under the water.
Washing my hair and body, the water was scalding hot but at least I wouldn’t smell like sweat, booze and s*x from the nightclub.
I got out wrapping my hair in a towel, I ran to the bedroom and dressed in my pyjamas and knitted jumper.
I rushed back to the bathroom, scooping up my discarded clothing, I took it to the laundry and shoved it in the basket I’d bought.
I grabbed 2 cokes out of my new second-hand fridge, sculling one and placing both cans on the bench, I looked at my phone my 15 mins was up.
My breath, it stunk of alcohol.
“s**t!” I hissed, running to the bathroom again, I scrubbed my teeth and tongue fiercely, gagging at the minty explosion.
Knock knock.
Time was up.
I spat into the sink, I flushed the sink with water.
Knock Knock Knock.
“I’m coming! Just a moment.” I call out.
I throw the towel on the rack, and tie my hair in a pony tail, then braid and pin it into a bun.
Exhaling I walk to the door, I look through the peep hole, sure enough standing on the other side is Mr Worth.
Sighing, I slid unlock, and pull it open.
I hate the way his eyes light up when he sees me, a smirk spread across his face and his too white teeth glow.
“Hello Miss Jenkins…” He says, I grunt.
“Come in or don’t.” I say, his eyes flash but he indicates to come in, I step aside.
“What a lovely apartment you have…So spacious…” Mr Worth comments, I blush, I had nothing, no furniture, no where for him to sit.
“Why are you here?” I ask, my voice both vulnerable and irritated.
“I wanted to come see you, I had questions…but now I have so many more.” He says curiously, as he snooped the apartment.
“Ok what did you need to see me about on a weekend..” I asked, as I watched him, he opens the bedroom door and pauses, then closes it again.
“Well I wasn’t going to see you, but I don’t know I had a crummy evening… and then I ran into your friend at a nightclub..” He shrugs, which looks graceful and flawless on him, that wasn’t fair.
“What do you consider crummy?” I ask, watching Mr Worth as he stiffens, he runs a hand through his brown hair and averts his blue eyes as he answers.
“You ever.. You ever love someone?” He asks, I frown at the question.
“Of course.” I reply.
“You ever have s*x with someone and wish for more then that?” He asks, the question surprises me.
“Yes…I have..” I think of the first time with Tom. “I’ve wanted more.. and been denied.” I answer honestly.
He nods, but says nothing.
“Thank you Kate, for your time.” He smiles apologetically. “I’ll see you Monday.” He says as he heads for the door.
“Are you going to be ok?” I ask, he pauses hand on the door, then looks over his shoulder, his ice blue eyes pierce me.
“I’m.. I feel much better then I did before talking to you.” Mr Worth confides, he chiselled jaw clenches as he swallows.
He turns away opening the door, he waves over his shoulder.
I wave back, forgetting he can’t see my actions, I smile I’m glad I help anyway I could.
