Sebastian and I swim a little further out, away from Liam and Juniper, to cover more ground. The water is crystal clear, sunlight filtering down in rippling beams that makes everything glow with a surreal brilliance. Schools of fish dart past us, shimmering like liquid silver.
Sebastian surfaces briefly, adjusting his mask and grinning at me. “You ready to crush this?” he asks, water dripping from his face.
I roll my eyes but cannot stop a small smirk. “You’re way too competitive, you know that?”
“Hey, we’ve got to win. It’s about pride, man.”
