P.O.V. Brielle
After the talk with Elder Silvanie, I went to training with Elder Natasha and Chadrick, my brother was already kicking ass in training, well being born with the power to be a Moon Goddess Guard he had to be something special. Before started training, I asked Natasha if I could watch him train. She agreed, I saw the Light Hammer in full force, I was looking placid looking at it, but I still remember what it was to be proud of my brothers, I always admired them.
“Looking out the training of your powerful brother.” He came near me with a small towel, on one hand, a bottle of water in the other. “That was good.” I tried to sound good. “Only good?” I just looked at him, maybe good was not enough. “Impressive?” I tried another word. “That is better.”
Natasha just rolled her eyes at him. “Now, let us train, want to help your baby sister, she needs to start training positions of combat.” He looks at her crossing his arms. I realize they always do that when they don’t like something and are trying to make a statement. “Why is she learning combat positions? She as us.” Natasha looks at him and imitates his position. “We will not always be with her, she at least needs to learn how to fight, the last months she as built stamina and prepared her body, she now needs to learn to defend and fight.” He glares at her. “ I can protect her always.” She brushes the comment off. “Chadrick, do not be macho, it will help her on a personal level also.” His eyes squint at her. “Did you just call me macho?” Turning away from him she keeps talking while signaling me to go with her. “Let us show her some stances.”
I learn the easy fight stances and throw a few punches at my brother. We called it a day and went back to sleep.
“Brielle, can I come in.” Elder Silvanie poking her head in my door. I nod for her to come in. “ I need to talk to you a little bit.“ She sat down on my bed.
“Junius’ life was hard, but I know he still loved me and Edmund. I also understand that the reason he died was because of his ghost.” I was already in my bed covered. She was near me, putting her arm around my shoulder like she always did when I was little. “You mean his father?” I look up to her. “Yes. We all have ghost Brielle, we Elders that lived so many years, that seen so many lives. We saw our family go before us, sometimes is hard even for us to share.” I understood that. When I am inside the diaries I can feel their emotions since I am seeing from their perspective. “Why are you telling me this?” I just have difficulty when I wake up. “I need you to understand that your path is not easy but is a path with a future. Always believe.”
I just looked at her, seems those words have a lot more in them than just Junius.
“Tomorrow we will begin with new learnings, spell learning.” I free from her arm, so I can face her properly. “Like witches?” She smiled. “I lived for a few years in a pack where the Luna was a witch, and learn a few spells to protect and to conceal. You will learn them also.” I have learned in school about witches. “How will that help me?” Pointing at the end of the bed. “First, you need to hide that tattoo, so you will learn a spell for that. Second, the protection spells will help you create a barrier, like a bubble that nothing comes in, in real life and your dreams also, that will help you in case you get too weak to fight.” I nod even if not understanding what she mean by a barrier in my dreams. “Another thing, you will start school soon.”
It is something I decided to make a patch for me. “ Father is putting me on a werewolf school.” She nodded as she knew already. “That will be a good time for you to start using your gift, so you will need to also learn how to deal with it. Elder Silvanie will be helping with that.”
“Elder Silvanie, why not you?” She starts explaining. “You will learn something with all of us. What you will learn with Elder Christian, will help your control your body and gifts, he is the oldest of us.” I did not know Elder Christian. “ I see. When will I start my lessons with him?” Even Elder Natasha has become closer due to her relation with Chadrick. “In one month. Now rest.”
I wake up in the morning and came down for breakfast, Elder Natasha and Elder Silvanie were near my mother and father talking about something. After breakfast, I was going to the Green House but was stopped.
“Today the training will be at the temple.”
I looked at her, but do not question just follow. We went inside the forest around the packhouse. We walked for a while until we reach an exceptionally long but slim tree.
“Stay, while I open the door.”
I saw her hand touch the tree bark, and a round of symbols appeared in her arm. A door wider than the tree shows up, the same door that appears in my room, but this one seems like the tree bark adjusted itself to create the door.
“Let’s go.” She waves her hand at me. “Why don’t we use the door in my room?”She looks at me before opening the door. “I wanted you to see, that when needed the door can appear to you, anywhere, everywhere. If you need it, if you get lost, just ask your wolf for it, using the forces of nature.” I did not understand “Now is time to go.” She opened the door. We got in and went to the same Hall that I always go to for training, but Elder Silvanie stops midway and turns right stopping in front of a door. I look at the door, is so out of place in this temple, is also a wooden door not so massive as the entrance door, and we could see the lifelines of the wood on the door, almost like the door was one tree only that naturally craved to be a door, the iron engravings on the two hinges are of flowers and leaf’s, butterflies. The strange thing that was around the arch of the door, on both sides, all the way to the floor it was an English Ivy, it seems like a forgotten place. She just stood there for a while looking at the door, after I admire the door, I notice that she didn’t move from there, maybe we were waiting for something, then she sighs and got to the door to open.
There was no handler on the door, but at the same time Elder Silvanie reach for the place where it should be:
Chant: “With these words, I utter now uncloak this object from the crowd.”
A doorknob appeared with lots of spider webs on it like I was thinking, is a door that was not open in a while. She then dusted the spider webs and rotated the doorknob. The English Ivy moved from the gaps on the door so that she could be open. I bet if I could have any reaction now, it will be like in those cartoons, where we see their eyes going wide open.
She got inside and I follow, a bright light made me close my eyes suddenly and blink a few times when I could see what was in front of me I froze, images going on my mind like pictures, it was hard to get out of the crisis I was having.
“ I know this place.”
P.O.V Elder Silvanie
When Brielle said, I know this place, I stopped and looked back. She was fighting a crisis episode, her eyes were completely black like something just took over her body, the fact she could speak in a crisis is a big step forward. I got close to her.
“What do you see, Brielle?” My voice was soft. “The girl in my dream.”
I know Lilian spend most of her days in the temple, it was her home, sometimes she would sneak away from all of us, and we could not find her for hours, it gave us almost heart attacks.
“What else?” I coach her to continue. “I meet her here.” I locked eyes with her, her eyes started going back to grey, meaning she was coming back.
P.O.V Brielle
In front of me was the pond of my dreams, but I was on the other side. Is a very large and big garden green was the most vivid color, I don’t remember the dream being so green, I only remember the pond. I could see green trees and green grass until the eye can catch, I looked around and thought we were outside. But outside where? I saw the blue sky, and the trees like falling in one side of the pond, around rocky paths, complete with nooks and crannies, the bridge I remember Lilian was on, was now in front of me, one of the cherry trees in full blossom was now looking at me.
“Are you alright now Brielle?” Silvanie putting her hand on my shoulder. I nodded. “Come with me.”
I follow her on the bridge, when I was in the middle I stopped, in the same place Lilian was in my dream and looked at the place she looked for me there was the mini waterfall, flowing from both side of the stones put together as a big bench.
“Brielle.” Silvanie soft vice took me out of the daze.
I looked at the place Elder Silvanie was on. It was a grass-green perfect garden, a few wildflowers know and there, she was in the middle of it, I walked closer to her.
“Do you want to talk before we start?” I stood in front of her following her hand gesture. “I am fine, we can go one.” I was not sure I was fine, but the questions can be done later.
“Alright, but if you have another crisis, we stop until you get to relax in the garden.” Her motherly voice was enough for me to understand she was worried. Same voice my mom uses. I nod and saw her sitting down on the grass, I follow.
“Even if the spells I am about to teach are simple, you still need to meditate and become one with nature. Today we will learn breathing.” I looked at her. She had her eyes closed. “Want you to close your eyes and feel your body movement as you inhale and exhale, and try to use breath using your thorax, and feel it going up and down while you breathe.”
I closed my eyes and tried to follow the information, but it was not easy I could tell my belly going up and down and I had to suck up my abdomen and move my shoulders to start feeling my thorax moving. I would open one eye and look and Elder Silvanie, she seems… what is the word… calm? Like she had a glowing light around her, she was breathing in a perfect rhythm.
“After you feel you are breathing with your thorax, count to five while inhaling, and then five while exhaling.”
I closed my eyes again and started doing what she told me, I follow her voice. After a few minutes of controlled breathing, I was having difficulty getting all the air I needed to my lungs, so I cough.
“Let’s breathe normally for a while.” I opened my eyes and she was looking at me. “Is not easy to slow down our body, to communicate with nature, after a few more practices it will become natural to you. Let’s try again, if counting to five is not enough, do your one counting, and see what feels more comfortable to you. I closed my eyes again, first, feel my body moving my thorax while breathing, second, count while inhaling and exhaling, after I got a got count.
“Relax or shoulder, hips, and thighs, put one hand on your belly, and the other on your lap with your thumb and finger touching.” I put myself on a crossed leg posed like hers and follow her actions.
“Close your eyes, and start to feel your breath, as you inhale feel your belly expand into your palm, as you exhale feel your belly drop inward to your spin, follow the movements repeating themself, while your body relax.” I felt my body tension relaxing.
“Now follow your breath, going by your nose, into your lungs, and coming back to leave your body.” I could feel my body moving with my breath.
“Open your eyes.” I open and look at Elder Silvanie. “You will need to come here to the garden and practice your breathing.” I looked around. “Why here?” She smiled. “Is the most peaceful place you will find and is connected to Mother Nature.”
“Did Lilian train here?” I decided to make the questions now. “I don’t think so, this place was been closed for a long time.” I understood that by the spider webs. “Why?” Her eyes seem to change and she looked far away. “This was the Garden of Moon Goddess Stella, after she passed away, it was closed.”
“I have seen this garden.” She looks back at me. Her eyebrow up. “How could you have seen it?”
“In the dream, I had with Lilian, I was in this garden with her.” I then looked at the pond. “I was in that rock with her when the witch came, and Lilian made the garden disappear.” Pointing at the end of it. “Lilian’s house was the temple, it possible she knew how to come here, we often lost track of her inside the temple and we never remember to look for her in the garden.” She was also looking to the place I pointed. “Why did she disappear?” I saw Elder Silvanie look at the pond, and stare at it for a while, expecting something. “Lilian often gives us signs. It was her way to show us the way.”
I was still looking at her.
“Maybe it’s time.” She stood up. “Stay here Brielle, I will be right back.”
