Fears and Shame

1578 Words
P.O.V Elder Silvanie The moment Brielle recognized the Moon Goddess Garden I was careful because she became overwhelmed, and after I found out it was Lilian that showed the garden to her I knew the next step. I looked over to my hands, at the old burned book, it was a miracle that it escaped, I saw him trying to burn it down, but I knew it could be important to the future, so I grabbed it, protected it with a spell from the flames. When he walked away still with the flames high, I retrieved it, I could never open it. And after he was gone, I was going to destroy it, but Elder Christian took it away from me and kept it at the temple for the Moon Goddess.  This is one of my greatest fears and shame, this book is a shadow to me. Is the time of the witches, and the horror that occurred in that time. I lost a lot of people that were close to me. I do not know what the book was written on. I am not sure if I should give it to Brielle, she is strong, but this book is all dark, I am afraid she might get pulled to it. I was standing outside the door to the garden, regretting, hoping that I miss read the sign, that I was not supposed to give it to her. The Ivy moved on the door making me look up to the inscription of the garden that they have been hidden since she died. “Don’t look back, your path is always forward.” I sigh, whatever this book reveals we will always be here for her. I open the door and walk to the garden, to her. P.O.V Brielle I was doing my breathing when I heard someone approaching. My senses were a little better when I relaxed. I open my eyes and see Silvanie looking at me while walking my way. I got up and faced her, on her hands was a piece of coal??? “Brielle.” She gave me an old book with the edges burned, part of the cover black “This is Delmon Diary, the 6  cursed child.” I look at her and then the book in my hands. “Why is it burn so badly?” She had a troubled face. “Delmon lived in an awfully hard time, where supernatural beings were slaughtered by hunters from the church, it was dark days for all creatures.” I looked at the book, maybe they tried to burn it, because of the inside. “Brielle, I know you are strong, but whatever you read in that book, remember always, we are here with you, believe in us.”  Her face was twitching, like what I usually see when people are hurt. “What is in the book?” Her eyes evaded mine.  “I do not know, I could only retrieve it after, and I could never open it. I do hope Lilian is right and that is the time to give you the book. In a few months, you will start school again, and Delmon had a hard time with people around him, if you ever feel that is too much, that the information on that book is too much, talk to us, Christian and I were the ones that spent more time with Delmon. We had a hard time understanding him, he was a closed person, never getting too close to us or even kids his age. We never understood what he was suffering, and we always blame ourselves for not being able to help him more.” “How did Delmon die?” We were interrupted by a violet orb with a scroll inside. Silvanie took the scroll and started reading. She sighs. “Seems your questions will have to be answered after you read the diary. Elder Christian has arrived and is waiting at the temple study area for us.” Looking at me.  “Elder Christian is the oldest of us all, he may seem unapproachable, but he will open little by little.” We started walking to the garden door. I look at the burned book once more, putting it close to my heart. We walk on the hall, and then to another door on the left, I stop, and look around, I do this hall every day to train with Natasha and I do not remember any of this. She opens the door, and a large library, with books all the way to the ceiling, stairs that seem built on the shelfs going up and down in diagonal, a few tables with chairs, couches near big and slim windows that go all the way to the ceiling, that are the only thing interrupting the books on the walls, we go right in the middle following a big rug that look like an old tapestry. I look at it while I walk, and see different beings in them, fairies, wolfs, faes, mermaids, all type of mythical creature have a representative in the rug, not only that I look up and see the large chandeliers coming down from the ceilings like they were born simply sprouted from that ceiling. I was absorbing everything that seemed natural like it was formed from the walls or the ceiling and the ground. We arrive at a big old wooden door, Silvanie opens a smaller one that the big one has, we get inside. The office was an open space, the granite walls cover all the office, only behind the desk there was a big window, but I could not see to the other side, in one of the walls, plants seem to come out in the cracks of the granite, and gently lay down on it, there was a type of fountain in the wall right next to it, water running it almost seems like a mirror on the wall, and when I looked at it I think I saw something passing by. “Glad to see you could join us. How do you feel?” Her voice made me look at her. “Better thank you Silvanie, spending some time at my pack, and training the new Elders help me get my strength back.” I look to where Silvanie is talking and I see an old man sitting on the couch closest to the big window behind the large desk. “Stay there we will join you.”She looked at me to sit down. I went to sit on one big chair that was directed to the couch. Looking at them, I could see the age catching up on Silvanie, but Elder Christian looked like an 80 years old human well built, only his face can tell his age, the wrinkles, the gaps and scars, the slog eyes. “Nice to finally meet you, child.” His stern and deep voice caught me by surprise. “Thank you for helping me, with the nightmares.” He looks up and down at me. “You seem to be well advanced on training according to the reports from Elder Silvanie.” I clasp my hands together, a formal gesture I always do when the person in front of me seems of higher rank or a respectful one.  “I still have some crisis. I can get myself out of them without using my wolf.” He moves his head in approval. “That is good and I know you are learning spells right?”  His voice reminded me of my teachers and the old Alphas that my father sometimes visited. “Yes, Sir,” I said involuntarily.  “Brielle is still in the breathing techniques, not the casting spell part.” He looked at Silvanie, I think they were talking to each other, because they stayed like that for a while. His eyes landed on me and the burn book, then back to my face. “That book has a hard life on it, you must learn to relativize what you are about to learn from it, in your real life. You know what you are, you know what your difficulties are, and you are learning to use them to your advantage, you are already building your strength. You will learn with me, how you can improve more. I won’t be soft, because you need to be hard, you need to understand that your life is not only yours, and build your walls physically and psychologically so that no one gets to you.” Sounding like an academy instructor, like the ones we see on films, no flaws, just do, and continue doing. “You will learn how to see your aura with Silvanie, I will train you how to change it, according to your ability, this will also help you see others auras, that will tell you if they are human, witch, mermaid, fae, dragon, werewolf and other creatures. This will be practical to you once your scent changes to werewolf, you already know how werewolf laws and hierarchy works. But if you have any doubts, ask us, in 3 months you will need to be able to switch your aura from human to wolf and control because you are going to a werewolf school for your senior year, that will be your test for the rest of your life. I open my eyes wide.
