It has been four days since the Elders are gone. Today my mom woke me up, saying I need to prepare for my birthday. It has been a year already since that day. That means less than three months to start school again. I needed help. I still could not understand the blue and white light that happens when I meditate. The only thing good now I can get out of my crisis faster, my brain seems rested. The physical pain like headaches and stomach pain had been less and less. It was a morning of being dragged along with Patrice to the stores. Ever since she became the future Luna, my mother has been also rearranging her wardrobe. Like any other time, I was pushed inside a booth to dress another gown, because the last 15 were still not the ones for me. If I was not in training, I swear my legs have given up by the six stores we walked in. I was taking my clothes off when I heard a loud tug. I looked at the floor and the Demon Book was on the floor. “This book appears from thin air. Now is not a good time” I pick it up and put it on the bench that does the corner for people to sit.
I got dressed and came outside. I looked at the outside mirror. “Is not bad.” I was looking at a fluffy ball gown. I am quite sure I did not like this type of dress before. I look at both that have a faraway look.
I pass through them and scan the racks. I look at a black gown floor length, zipper on the back, A-line, the top is simple, but the bottom is tulle and lace. I pick it up and go to the booth to change. When I get out again, they have their eyes on me. “That is not the dress we pick up,” Patrice says, my mom looks at me up and down.
“You were busy mind linking so I went and picked one that seems more me.” They blushed but took a better look at me.
“Don’t you want to try another color?” My mom says coming to my side and checking the material.
“No. Black goes with all.” She then looked at Patrice that sigh and nodded.
“If this is the one, then we take it.” I looked at her and gave a small smile. She gave me a kiss. “Go change so we can eat.” I looked at her.
“Mom, can I go home for the day? I will eat when I get there.” She looked at me.
“Tired?” I can respond to that.
“If it was the old me yes. But this time is different.” I got to the booth and picked the book up and showed it to them.
“Did you bring that up with you?” Mom asked.
“No,” I said looking at them. They know that is important, only not how much. I can’t explain, because I don’t understand it also. The only thing I could tell them is that it helps me understand my situation better. She nods.
“The driver is waiting for you outside. “I say “Thanks” change then said goodbye and walked out. I sense I forgot something, but I keep it going. Once I got to the house, I went to my room, inside, the door to the temple, directly to the garden. Once I got there I walked to the clover field and to the bench on the ruins. There was a plate on the table, a wooden fork, and a container with a letter. I opened the letter.
“We were told you did not have your lunch yet. Eat first. My brother is occupied, so I will be the one bringing you the tea in the afternoon. Looking forward to meeting you. Ass: Raiza. “
“Raiza?” I remember Hassad talking about a sister. “Maybe.” That means I am going to meet a mermaid. I look at the statue in the fountain while opening the container to start eating. After I put everything in order. I got on the bench and put the blanket near. I open the book on a random page and the envelope appears. I picked it up, it had written on it. “The Truth.” I open it up and pick the letter. Once I start reading. I start to feel sleepy, I lay down.

After that pack reunion, the Elders took me with them to a tower in the north of the castle. It was sort of a library, lots of books, tables to read. A spiral staircase that we got onto a balcony, with a round table on it. We sat down all on it. They looked at me, then they looked at each other. Elder Silvanie then turned again to me. “Before we start training and school, you need to understand what you are.”
“What am I?” I looked at her. “I am human.” She looks at me.
“That and more.” I just keep looking at them. “It may be difficult for you to understand. If you have any doubts, ask.” Her eyes were determined. I just nodded. She then started telling the story of the royal king that rejected the witch, and the witch curse. She paused a little after expecting me to say something. But I did not understand what a werewolf story had to do with me. I keep on staring. She then continued talking about the other children that she meets before me, how on his 16
birthday he died because of nightmares. The only thing that got in my mind, was that now she was talking about a human boy. After that story, she stopped once again waiting. I was thinking. “Delmon. Do you understand why I am telling you all this?” I nodded no. Elder Christian started talking to me. “You are the child with the curse. We are here to train you to survive.” He keeps his stare at me. I got scared, he scared me.
“But. I don’t know who my parents are.” I look at Silvanie.
“It doesn’t matter. They understood what you are. That is why they left you in the orphanage.” Elder Christian says.
That keeps replaying in my mind. I must have gotten absent.
“Delmon.” Elder Silvanie's hand came on top of mine. “You are special. If you live, you can save our kind.” I look at her and nod. But my sad look stayed on my face.
“What will happen to me?” I ask her, but Elder Christian responds.
“You will start your training at the age of ten, in the temple with me. Before that you will have normal classes and witchcraft in Luna Leana School for young witches” I just nodded. After the conversation, I was dismissed to go to my bedroom. I was opening my door when someone stopped near me. I look up and see the boy that was sitting near Elder Christian at breakfast. He just looked at me, gentle eyes.
“You are a cursed child?” I keep on looking at him.
“Yes,” I said. He just responded.
“I am sorry.” Passed me on and went away. I keep staring at his back while he just keeps on. I got inside my room and flung on my bed. Those dark thoughts taking away my will to live. I picked my small box and went to the bathroom. I was about to open it when someone knocked on my door. I hid the box and went to open it. Luna Leana was at my door, her eyes were black, like the time she read my hand.
“Luna Leana!” Her eyes then got back to normal, she looked down at me.
“Good you are up. Want to go for a walk with me? You will meet the pack, and the place I will be teaching you.” I look to the bathroom, then back at her.
“Won’t I be learning in the castle?” She followed my eyes but came back to me.
“I don’t teach inside the castle. Too dangerous. I have a school in the back of the castle, just across from the gardens. You will meet a lot of the pack members that always walk before or after their duties.” She took a step back.
“What about the Elders?” she looked away for a moment.
“Already informed.” She smiled at me and extended her hand for me to pick up. I reached out and went with her.
We got outside the castle and I saw a garden that seems to never end. There was a well-manicured lawn area outlined by an amazing and lush, large garden. The garden works to build boundaries of the lawn. We follow the path, between pinks, yellows, and purples flowers. The woods appeared in the background closing the garden by all sides, leaving only one side. As I looked over and saw houses far away. “Those are the paths to the pack. That way they do not have to go inside the castle to come and enjoy the garden.” There were fountains with statues of women and men undressed on them.
“Why are the people naked?” She looked at the statues.
“That is our natural being. Werewolves more than witches take pride in their bodies. For them, it is natural to be naked.” She then looks at me. “You don’t need to be like them. Just be yourself.” Her eyes seem to always strip my soul.
We got to the side of the garden where a three-story brick house stood up. I got lost counting the windows of the house. “This is the school.” She extended her hand to show it. She then gave one step forward and stopped. I got beside looking at her. Her eyes were black again. I hear giggles and a sort of explosion.
“Catherina, get back here now.” A redhead got outside the door of the house, running, and looking back at the same time giggling. And the old woman was running after her. She did not see us coming straight at the Luna, falling to the ground. “You little rascal.” The woman that was chasing her got her by her collar and put her up. “Wait until Luna knows what you have done.”
Coffing “And what did she do?” The woman looked up and her eyes widened by recognition. Bowing her head.
“I am sorry Luna. This little rascal just exploded with the potion cauldron.” I looked at the girl that was now looking in awe at Luna.
“Is that true?” The tone in that question tells me it was not the first time she asked the girl that same question. The girl nodded. Sigh “You know the punishment?” She nodded again. “One week without magic. I need to send you home in suspension. Is the 3
time this month I catch you using your magic in improper ways, I need to tell your parents.” She started crying.
“I won’t do it again. Do not tell my parents.” I understood her agony. The pups in the orphanage used me as their escape, I got the blame for everything so that the superiors never know about it. Luna looked at her.
“You already got off two times. I need to report this time.” She got near her, got down to her size putting her hand on her head. “You will be back in no time.” She continued crying, and the old woman took her hand and got her inside the school.
“You can come to the school, by the garden. Someone will always come with you. You don’t need to worry about getting lost.” I was still looking at the door where the red girl disappeared.
“Is she going to be ok?” She kept looking at me and smiled.
“Yes. Her parents are not bad people.” I looked at her.
“I do not have parents.” Her eyes sadden.
“Then we can be your family since you will be staying with us.” I gave her a smile. We went inside the school, she introduced the people that worked there, they all smiled at me and seemed nice. We crossed the red girl once more in the corridor and she gave me a sad look that I could not understand. We then came back and walked around the pack. She pointed out where everything was, but always told me that there will always be someone with me.
We got back to the castle for dinner time. I stayed between Elder Silvanie and Elder Christian. The next day I started school. Elder Christian would come to pick me and the boy that I found out was named Dereck and was training to become an Elder also. We got lessons after breakfast, all morning. Then in the afternoon I would go to the witch school and start learning. This was my new life. But I did not know it all yet.
