Nova opened her eyes and smoothed her hand over the soft, earth-toned quilt beneath her. A kangaroo clock ticked on the wall across from her, and next to it, a windowsill full of strange plants. She blinked at them. They were familiar somehow. Her gaze traveled to the bookshelves on the opposite wall and then the big brown leather boots at the end of the bed. She startled.
