The portal closed, and they lurched forward at an alarming rate into a tunnel of color, light, motion, and sound.
Everyone gripped the bars tighter.
“Steady,” Dale yelled above the din. “Stay as calm as you can. This only lasts a few minutes.”
Waves of light and energy passed over them. The cage shook violently. The welds were strong, but there was no way to measure how strong the forces here pulled on it.
“Try using your powers,” Dale called out to Shai Tan and Ashe.
Both men strained to ignite themselves, their faces reddening, but nothing happened.
