Kat could feel it in her gut as she, Hugh, and the rest of the Rogue Hunters teleported back to the Oregon coastline to comb for more clues.
Authorities had cleared the site of most of the debris, but the police tape and scorch marks remained.
Hugh examined one of the large metal Geiger watches Dale had given them, then pushed a silver button along its side.
The watch glowed, cycling through red, yellow, and green lights as Hugh turned in a circle, wrist out, scanning the site.
It let out a loud beep, startling Hugh and blinking yellow. “If I’m reading this correctly, the radiation in this area is elevated. But why wouldn’t there be any warning signs out? Wouldn’t the Feds test for this?”
