After the trial concluded, I led Sarah back to her room and stayed by her side until she fell asleep. The moon was out, bathing the earth with its silver glow.
Making sure she was tucked in, I whispered, “Goodnight, Sarah. Sweet dreams.” before slipping out and closing the door behind me.
Before retiring, I had two things to sort out: Tamara and Royanna's departure.
Apparently, Alpha Dylan had sent in a convoy to pick up his daughter, and she had to leave tonight to arrive home sooner.
As soon as I knocked on Tamara's door, she swung it open and dragged me in. I almost tripped but held the wall for support.
“Wow!” I gasped, hands on my chest, I could feel my heart racing wildly.
“I have good news.” She squealed.
“What good news?”
“I am not leaving!” She exclaimed, giggling.
