Ravenna heard a faint voice calling out to her as she tried to open her eyes. she found herself in a dark, desolate place. The air was thick.
A figure approached her, its face shrouded in shadows. "Welcome, Ravenna Pierce," it said, its voice low and gravelly. "You have come to the Underworld."
Ravenna's heart pounded in her chest. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice shaking.
"You are dead," the man replied. "And now, you must face judgment."
Ravenna's eyes widened in terror.
The figure gestured to a path behind him. "Come," he said. "Your judgment awaits."
Ravenna hesitated, She didn't know what to expect.
She took a deep breath and followed him from behind down the path. The air grew colder and darker, the shadows twisting and writhing like living things.
The man stopped in front of a great river, its waters churning. "This is the River Styx," he said. "Here, you will be judged for your actions in life."
she looked out across the river, she saw a figure standing on the far bank. It was a woman, tall and stately, with eyes that shone like stars.
"Who is that?" Ravenna asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"That is the Queen of the Underworld," the figure replied. "She will judge you, Ravenna. She will determine your fate if you are to go to hell or heaven."
The queen spoke, her voice like music. "Ravenna, why did you take your own life," the queen asked, her voice firm but not unkind.
Ravenna hesitated, unsure of how to answer. She had never thought she would be asked to explain herself, to justify her actions.
"I...I couldn't bear the thought of living a life without love I didn't want to keep being with my family who made my life miserable," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I was trapped in a marriage contract I didn't want, especially not with a man I didn't love. I felt like I was suffocating, like I had no escape."
The queen nodded, her expression unreadable. "And you thought death was the only way out?"
"I was desperate," she said. "I didn't know what else to do." "I didn't know how to escape."
The queen's expression softened, her eyes filled with compassion. "Ravenna, there is always a way out, always a choice to be made. You didn't have to take your own life. You could have found another way."
"What will happen to me now?" she asked.
"Ravenna, you have been judged," she declared, her voice echoing through the cavernous space. "Your actions have consequences.
"You cannot ascend to the realm of the blessed," the queen continued, her voice unyielding. "The act of self-destruction has barred you from the gates of heaven. Your only option is to descend into the depths of the underworld, to suffer the torments of the damned in hell."
"No," Ravenna whispered, her voice barely audible. "Please, there must be another way."
"That is not for me to decide any longer , I have passed my judgment as the queen of the underworld," she said. "But I will tell you this, Ravenna. You might be given a chance to redeem yourself, to be reborn. But it will not be easy.
The Queen stood before the sacred altar, her eyes closed in reverence as she raised her hands to the heavens, her voice echoing through the chambers of the underworld.
"Oh! great Phoenix. hear my plea!" she cried, her words dripping with desperation. "I beg of you, grant me another wish for the mortal Ravenna.
The air became thick, and suddenly, a burst of flames erupted from the altar, and the sacred Phoenix rose from the ashes.
Its eyes, fiery as it faced Ravenna. "Why do you wish to be given a last chance to return to the mortal world, Ravenna? "
"I want revenge on my uncle and his wife." Ravenna said. "I want to make them pay for what they did, for the pains and the torture they made me go through since i was a child, blaming me for my parent death, and always referring me as badluck , i want to be happy."
The Phoenix stared at her for a long moment, its eyes piercing the depths of her soul. "Revenge is like a poison, Ravenna."
The Phoenix sighed, its flames dwindling to a faint glow. "Very well, Ravenna, Your desire to be reborn, to return to the mortal world, is not for me to decide."
but that of the devil himself, Azazel, will decide your fate," she said. "But be warned, Ravenna, Azazel is not one to be trifled with. He is very powerful, and his heart is not easily won."
"What do you mean?" Ravenna asked, her voice trembling.
The Phoenix continued, "To gain Azazel's favor, to persuade him to grant you access to the mortal world, you must first win his heart," she said. "You must make him fall in love with you! Ravenna, in the next 200 days."
" 200 days!.... But how do you expect me to make Azazel fall in love with me, knowing fully well he was the devil himself?" Ravenna asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The phoenix smiled in return, It's eyes, glinting. "That, Ravenna, is for you to figure out," it replied. "But be warned, Azazel cannot be easily fooled. He will not be easily swayed by empty words. You must be clever, and you must be true, Ravenna. Only then will you have a chance to win his heart and gain your freedom."
"Heed my advice, Ravenna!."
With that, the phoenix vanished, leaving Ravenna and the queen alone in the darkness. Ravenna took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to succeed. She would make Azazel fall in love with her, no matter what it took.
just at that moment, her thoughts were interrupted by the queen saying "well Ravenna, your mission starts now! i wish you luck."
As the queen finished speaking, the ground beneath Ravenna's feet gave way, and she felt herself falling, plummeting downward into the darkness. She screamed, her voice echoing off the walls of the underworld.
******************************************************
Ravenna's fall seemed to last an eternity.
Just when she thought she couldn't take it anymore, Ravenna's fall slowed, and she landed with a soft thud on a bed of cold, damp earth.
She lay there for a moment, her chest heaving.
As she struggled to catch her breath, she realized that she was not alone.
A figure stood over her, its presence looming large in the darkness. Ravenna's heart skipped as she scrambled to her feet, her eyes straining to see who - or what - stood before her.
The figure stepped forward, its features illuminated by a faint, flickering light. Ravenna gasped as she took in the sight of the demon before her.
He was tall and lean, with skin like dark, polished marble. His eyes glowed with an otherworldly energy, and his horns curved upward from his forehead like twisted, horror sculptures.
"Who are you?" Ravenna demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.
The demon bowed low, his movements fluid and menacing. "I am Xorax, the fiftieth servant of the great Azazel,"
Ravenna's eyes widened as she took in the significance of Xorax's title. The Fiftieth Servant was a position of great power and authority and the one closest to the devil himself."And you, little one, would be a soul of great interest to my master." "He said," his voice low like a quiet stream."
My master will be... eager to meet you, or not i can't assure."
As Xorax led Ravenna through the winding tunnels of the underworld, he seemed to sense her curiosity about his title. "You wonder what it means to be the Fiftieth Servant of Azazel?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
Ravenna nodded, her eyes fixed on the demon's face.
Xorax smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "In the underworld, things work... differently," he said. "Here, the order of power is not from top to bottom, but from bottom to top."
Ravenna's brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?" she asked.
Xorax chuckled. "In the mortal world, the most powerful beings are at the top of the hierarchy, and the least powerful are at the bottom. But here, in the underworld, it is reversed. The most powerful servants of Azazel are at the bottom, closest to the depths of the underworld."
Ravenna's eyes widened as she began to understand. "So, being the Fiftieth Servant means you're... near the top?" she asked.
Xorax nodded, his smile growing wider. "Yes, little one. As the Fiftieth Servant, I am among the most powerful of Azazel's minions. And I am feared and respected throughout the underworld."
Xorax seemed to sense her fear, and his smile grew even wider. little one," he said." Here, time moves differently. Hours pass like minutes, and minutes pass like seconds. You might be here for a very long time.i can't really predict.
