Azazel sat on his throne as he summoned Xorax, his loyal servant. Xorax appeared before him, his head bowed in submission.
"Xorax, where is the mortal, Ravenna?" Azazel asked, his voice dripping with malice.
"She is in the underground cells, my lord," he replied. "I placed her there, as per your instructions."
Azazel's eyes narrowed. "And what punishment should i have you devised for her?" he asked.
Xorax swallowed hard, knowing that Azazel's punishments were always brutal and merciless. "I...I was thinking of perhaps solitary confinement, my lord till you give instructions," he stammered.
Azazel's expression turned skeptical. "Solitary confinement?" he repeated. "That is far too lenient.
Xorax hesitated, knowing that he had to come up with something more severe. "Perhaps...perhaps the pit of despair, my lord?" he suggested.
Azazel's eyes lit up with excitement. "Ah, yes. The pit of despair. That is perfect. See to it, Xorax.
Xorax bowed his head, knowing that he had no choice but to obey. He turned to leave, but Azazel's voice stopped him.
"And Xorax?" Azazel called out.
Xorax turned back, his heart sinking. "Yes, my lord?" he replied.
"I want Ravenna to know that I am the one who holds her fate in my hands."
Xorax nodded, feeling a sense of dread wash over him. He knew that Azazel's punishments were always brutal and merciless, and he feared for Ravenna's safety.
As he turned to leave, he heard Azazel's voice behind him. "And Xorax?"
Xorax turned back, his heart sinking. "Yes, my lord?" he replied.
"Do not forget that Ravenna is a mortal," Azazel said, "She is fragile and weak. Do not hesitate to use force if she resists."
Xorax nodded at Azazel's words. He knew that he had to obey,
*****************************************
Xorax stood outside Ravenna's cell, his voice echoing through the corridors. "Ravenna," he called, his deep voice gentle.
Xorax's eyes met Ravenna's, and he offered her a sympathetic smile. "I'm afraid it's time for you to come with me," he said, his voice soft and apologetic.
Lilith's voice echoed, laced with concern. "Where are you taking her?" Lilith asked, her eyes fixed intently on Xorax.
"I'm just following orders," he said calmly.
Ravenna turned to Lilith, a reassuring smile on her face. "It's okay, Lilith," she said. "I'll be fine."
But Lilith's expression remained skeptical, her eyes darting back to Xorax. "I don't trust him," she muttered, her voice low and suspicious.
Xorax's expression remained neutral. "I mean, her no harm."
Lilith's gaze lingered on Xorax for a moment before she turned back to Ravenna. "Be careful," she whispered, her eyes wide with concern.
Ravenna nodded, She knew that Lilith was just trying to protect her, and she appreciated her new friend's concern.
As Ravenna walked out of the cell, she turned to Xorax with a curious expression. "Xorax, has my punishment already been decided?" she asked.
Xorax's eyes met hers, and he nodded solemnly. "Yes, Ravenna. Azazel has decreed your punishment."
Ravenna's eyes narrowed slightly, her mind racing. "What is it?" she asked, her voice firm.
Xorax hesitated, his expression somber. "I'm not supposed to tell you," he said. "But I will say that it's not going to be easy.
As she approached Xorax, he stepped aside, allowing her to pass. Ravenna walked out of the cell into the dark and foreboding corridors of the underworld. Xorax followed close behind, his footsteps echoing off the walls.
"I'm sorry it has to be like this," Xorax said, his voice low and gentle. "I wish there was another way."
Ravenna glanced back at him, her eyes searching for any sign of deception. But Xorax's expression was sincere.
They walked in silence for a few moments, the only sound the creaking of the gates and the rustling of their footsteps. Ravenna's heart pounded in her chest, her mind racing with thoughts of what lay ahead.
As they walked, the corridors grew darker and more twisted, the air growing colder and more oppressive. Ravenna could feel the presence of the underworld's inhabitants, the whispers and murmurs of the damned souls echoing through the corridors.
Finally, they arrived at a large, ominous-looking door. Xorax pushed it open, revealing a set of steep, winding stairs that plunged down into darkness.
Ravenna's heart sank. Xorax noticed her hesitation and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
Ravenna took a deep breath and then began to make her way down the stairs, Xorax following close behind.
Xorax led Ravenna down the winding stairs, the air growing colder and more oppressive with each step. Ravenna could feel the weight of the underworld's darkness pressing down on her, making her skin crawl.
As they descended deeper, the stairs gave way to a narrow, winding path. The walls seemed to close in around them, the rocks rough and unforgiving. Ravenna stumbled, her foot catching on a loose stone.
Xorax caught her arm, his grip firm but gentle. "Careful," he said, his voice low and soothing. "The path can be treacherous."
Ravenna nodded, her heart pounding in her chest.
The path twisted and turned, leading them deeper into the heart of the underworld.
"Welcome to the pit of despair," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Ah, Xorax," a figure said as it emerged, his voice like a rusty gate. "I see you've brought yet another prisoner."
Vraxxis's eyes gleamed with malevolent intent as he turned to Ravenna. "Welcome, little one," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"I'm Vraxxis, the overseer of the pit. You'll be seeing a lot of me during your...stay."
Ravenna's eyes narrowed, her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't like the sound of Vraxxis's voice or the way he looked at her.
As Vraxxis began to circle around Ravenna, another figure emerged from the shadows. This one was shorter and more compact, with skin like dark, polished marble.
"Ah, Xorax," the demon said, his voice like a smooth, honeyed wine. "What brings you here?"
Kaelos. I've brought Ravenna a mortal as a punishment given to her by Master."
Kaelos's eyes gleamed with curiosity as he turned to Ravenna. "Welcome, Ravenna," he said, his voice dripping with charm. "I'm Kaelos, the......
Vraxxis stepped forward, interrupting. "Enough chit-chat," he said, his voice low and smooth.
Xorax stepped forward, his eyes locked on Ravenna's. "I have to leave," he said, his voice low and urgent. "But I'll be back for you if Azazel gives the order for your release."
"Thank you," Ravenna said,
"I'll do everything I can to make my Master Azazel get you released."
With that, Xorax turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Ravenna to Vraxxis and Kaelos.
