Noises

Her friends began walking away bidding her parents goodbye, they disappeared within the school.

Payton with her hands in both pockets turned over to face her parents. “Two weeks.” she stated reminding them of their earlier agreement.

“But that’s so far. Can’t it be a week?” her father asked pleading, their couldn’t stay two weeks without visiting their daughter.

“I’ll make it three dad.” she warned him with her eyebrow raised. As much as today was fun, she needed then to let her go she hardly stay a week at the school and they had already visited.

“Fine two weeks if you agree to actually taking care of yourself. I mean drink blood twice or once a week.” her mother offered with a half heart, she was worried about Payton always had been.

Payton agreed with a nod, she didn’t like the idea but it would keep them away and at peace. Pressing both her hands on her parents shoulders she began pushing them to the car. “I will. Now run along, see you in three weeks.”

Mr. Kent turned his back now facing her. “We agreed two not three Payton.”

“Must be my mistake, see you two weeks.” it wasn’t at all a mistake, she did it on purpose. She finally got her parents to their car.

“Payton!” a too familiar voice shouted, running closer and closer to Payton, Tina got into perfect view.

Letting go of her parents she turned to face the girl, the two embraced eachother into a friendly hug. “I haven’t seen you all day. Been looking for you.” Tina spoke letting go of Payton.

“I was off campus, as you can see I’m back now.” she trailed her arms up and down herself, looking back at Tina smiled. “So what did you want to talk about.” Payton asked.

“I—” Tina stopped talking once Mrs. Kent cleared her throat loudly. Payton had almost forgotten her parents hadn’t left yet and apparently gotten into the car.

Payton turned looking at her parents with a half smile. “Tina, mum and dad. Parents, Tina my friend.” she introduced her to her parents, huge smiles over came their faces.

Mrs. Kent took Tina’s hand in hers shaking it with a smile. “It’s so nice to know Payton has been making friends.” she looked over at Payton from the corner of her eyes.

Payton snorted at the remark, “What? You thought I’d stat locked up in my room. Only go to class and not associate with another living thing.” crossing her arms in front of her chest, she glared at both her parents.

Mr. Kent happily shook his head a smile on his face. “Yeah that sounds just about right, that’s Payton.” Payton huffed in disbelief.

“Nice to meet you both, Mr. And Mrs. Kent.” Tina spoke trying to change the subject.

Mr. Kent walked over to Tina throwing his hand over her shoulder, his wife and daughter looked at him clueless. “So tell me Tina do you have any interest in my daughter, more than just friendly?”

Payton glared at her father but he simply ignored, taking all his attention on Tina. A bit hesitant for a while Tina finally shook her head no.

“That’s sad for her but good for you. Anyway I take it you’re a vampire, will you make sure that fool drinks blood.” he held out his finger pointing at his daughter who looked beyond pissed.

Tina failed containing herself, she immediately began laughing agreeing with a nod. Mr. Kent smiled at his wife in victory but Mrs. Kent wasn’t at all so pleased, she was thrilled.

Despite assigning all her earlier friends in private to watch over Payton, two more set of eyes would do more good then bad at helping.

Payton looked at her mother with narrowed eyes and she knew exactly what to do at that point. Mrs. Kent walked over to her husband her arm locked with his arm she pulled him away from the girl.

“I think we should go.” Payton shook her head in agreement, her mother pulling her husband to the car they finally got in.

With one last wave from both of them the car took off, Payton beside Tina watching it disappear beyond the gates.

“I might like your parents Payton.” Tina threw her arm over Payton’s shoulder, bringing their two bodies closer.

“Not you too.” Payton groaned, everyone she went to the picnic said the exact same words, it was nice her parents like her friends and vice versa but she knew her parents too well.

“Come on they are great parents.” Tina encouraged, smiling at Payton. She shook her get agreeing or disagreeing, she didn’t know.

“Most times. So what did you want to talk about.” looking back at Tina she changed the subject. Tina let go of her arm, intertwining their hands she began pulling Payton the forest. “Come on I’ll show you.”

Payton followed without question, running towards the forest they passed a couple of students. Who in mind had the wrong idea of the matter but neither of the girls cared enough, they kept running to the forest hand in hand.

They passed trees and scrubs along the way, nothing too suspicious was in the forest just a friendly forest around the school with beautiful trees.

Payton looked back, the more they ran into the forest the further the school seemed to fade from sight.

The two girls were now deep within the forest, their pace seemed to slow down. Tina led Payton to a cliff, below the little rocked cliff ran a steady river.

The clean waters ran further than her eyes could see, a fresh breeze of fresh air passed by the girls. Payton stood there in awe as the sun was setting from horizons, the sight in front of her was beautiful.

“Wow, this is quite a lovely sight Tina. How?” Payton asked not tearing her eyes away from the sun set.

Tina sat down on the rock looking at the exact sight Payton was invested in. “I wonder around a lot plus some students throw parties here. Another one is tomorrow night.” She spoke.

Payton tore her gaze from the sun set to Tina. “Isn’t like the day after tomorrow a school day. Why not throw it today.” she walked over to Tina and sat right beside her, her eyes back on the sun set.

“As much as Amidst is cool no one likes school, and tomorrow most teachers are resting too tired to care if we party because they have to be ready for classes early.” Tina explained.

“I guess you’re going?” Tina agreed with a nod, no way would she miss the first party of the semester, Payton hummed in response. “So why did we come here.” she looked over to Tina resting both her hands on the stone, resting her whole body on them.

“Isn’t it obvious, I came to ask you out.” Payton looked at Tina shocked and very much taken back, she sat there looking at Tina not saying a word.

Tina dropped to the ground laughing, Payton looked even more confused than before. “I was joking. I don’t see you like that.” Tina clarified once she had stopped laughing, Payton finally breathed feeling relieved.

Tina stood on her heels looking down at Payton. “Now stand. You need to see this.” she didn’t hesitate to stand, she needed to see what Tina wanted to show her.

“Where should I look?” Payton asked scanning every place in sight, nothing looked out of the ordinary. “We need to take a step closer, it’s down there.” Tina pointed to the river Payton nodded.

Walking behind Payton Tina smirked mischievous. Payton looked back at Tina puzzled nothing stood in the water, by the look on her face Payton looked once more.

As she was looking back she saw Tina shoving her off the edge, with quick reflexes Payton grabbed onto Tina’s clothing.

The plan had completely backfired on Tina, both the girls fell off landing into the water with a big splash.

Emerging from the water, both Payton and Tina were soaked to their bones and did Tina look pissed. “You weren’t supposed to take me down with you.” Tina spoke swerving her arms left and right under the water to keep her afloat.

Swallowing a bit of water Payton looked at Tina with narrowed eyes. “You weren’t supposed to push me.” with her arm she splashing water at Tina.

Tina’s sight got a bit blurry as the water hindered her, once the water had settled she looked at Payton with a slight smirk. She began splashing water at Payton as well, neither did Payton just watch. They both laughed as the splashed water at eachothers faces.

With drenched clothes and shoes in hand, Payton and Tina walked down the dorm halls leaving a trail of water along the way. Everyone kept giving them questioning stares but the girls looked at eachother then laughed.

Payton approached her room, looking at Tina with a smile she bid her goodbye, she happily returned walking away.

Dahlia wasn’t in sight when Payton walked into her room, she walked directly to the bathroom, she needed a warm shower.

Walking out the bathroom she was dressed in dry and clean clothes, but Dahlia was still not in sight. Payton just made her way to her bed, laying under the covers, dinner was a no for her she had too much to eat at the picnic.

In a few minutes her eyes began getting heavy, slowly she drifted off to sleep, a peaceful sleep.

Dahlia quietly opened the door, peeping through the door she saw Payton passed out on the bed. Grabbing onto Hayley’s hand they walked through the door making sure not to wake Payton.

“Won’t your roommate hear us?” Hayley whispered her face only inches from Dahlia, Dahlia shook her head no in an instant their lips locked.

The girls walked over to the bed still kissing, slowly undressing eachother. Dahlia mistakenly fell on the bed breaking their kiss, Hayley lightly giggled getting on top of her.

“Sshh!” Dahlia brought her finger over her lips, Hayley understood nodding her head. Sitting up Dahlia crushed her onto hers locking once again.

Payton lazily turned trying to find out where the noise came from, turning on the lamp she saw Dahlia and some girl intensely making out and almost naked.

She groaned which alarmed the girls, “Always make sure I’m dead dead asleep.” she got out of bed walking out their room, still drowsy.

Walking down the hall in only an over sized shirt Payton lazily walked to Amber and Dixie’s room, her pillow in hand.

Opening the door she saw a trail of clothes on the floor, the two girls rested in eachother’s arms fast asleep, the covers hiding their naked bodies.

“Why is everyone having sex.” she murmured a bit frustrated making her way to the empty bed. Once she made herself comfortable in the bed, Payton slowly drifted off soon everything was black.
