I’m not going to give Roman the satisfaction of seeing me crumble. Not tonight. Straightening the front of my dress, I head back toward the building, toward the same door that Roman had pulled me out of only a few minutes ago. Right before he told me that he killed a man and literally committed arson all because he wanted revenge. He didn’t do it for me, that is what he said, and in a way, I’m actually sort of relieved that the blood isn’t on my hands as well and I don’t have to feel guilty about anything. Why don’t you go back in there and shake those t**s for your ex-husband so we can go home? That’s what he’d said to me. Minutes before that, he was trying to force me to go home with him for reasons he never told me. And then he’d suddenly switched on me for no f*****g reason at all
