The plan is to slowly infiltrate Noah and Vanessa’s empire without them even realizing it until it’s almost completely over.
At least, that’s what I was told.
I already know that I am simply a pawn in all this and that both Roman and Maximus have their own motives.
And I agreed to be used. I have no problem being the pawn because, at the end of the day, I agreed to this mainly because of my son.
And now, Max is saying this?
“You can’t be serious,” I choke out. “You’re saying I can’t see my own son?”
Maximus is already standing again, an unbothered expression on his face as if he didn’t just rip my heart out of my chest.
“I don’t say things I don’t mean,” he replies curtly. “You know that.”
I whip my head toward Roman, feeling my lips quiver. “I haven’t seen him in three years!”
