“So.. how did it go with Carl?” Echo nudged Pearl. Silence was the best answer she could give to Echo, because Pearl couldn’t understand what was really between her and Carl. He wouldn’t look at her, but wouldn’t stand Pearl looking at someone else. He confused her beyond her patience level. Pearl wanted to give up but couldn’t.. because he wouldn’t allow that either.
