The Dream The iron lock clicked shut from the outside. I stood in my bedroom and listened until Cassian’s armor stopped clanking down the hall. Quiet filled the room while the night sky turned gray. My hands were shaking as I pulled the folded paper from my coat. Doctor Vance’s handwriting looked terrible with Duke Varn’s red wax seal sitting at the bottom. Record as sudden illness.
