The Dark Warning I ran back up the dark stone stairs to my bedchamber. My chest was heaving, and my heart slammed against my ribs. I reached my room just as Cassian stepped back into the hallway. He was walking toward my door to check on me. His black steel boots made heavy, deliberate sounds on the hard floor.
