Chapter 6

515 Words
Dallas' POV I woke up at 5am like I always do to go patrol the borders with my pack members because I don't believe being an Alpha makes me any better than an omega, it just means I was chosen to lead my pack and to make sure we all live to see another day. We all we together side by side in our pack the omegas aren't used as workers they help out just like the betas, gammas and normal pack members with daily chores, but they also go to school and work. After putting on some shorts I head out to take a lap around the border and meet with the respective wolves at their post to get a report. "Alpha" Conner greets when he sees me. "Conner anything to report?" "No Alpha everything has been silent." "Good, glad to hear it. I'm going out for a meeting, and I will return in an hour the beta is already aware but as the head warrior you should be informed as well so as to keep alert." I tell him. "Okay Alpha do you need back up?" "No, I'll be fine it's just a quick trip." I assured him, after we said our peace, I headed to meet Kegean at the location we set the night before. I arrived at the diner 10 minutes later and Kegean was already seated with a cup of coffee to his lips as I walked over and sat across from him. "Alpha," he greeted. "Kegean so you said you found something, what exactly did you find?" I questioned getting straight to business. "As I said before the King had two sons but only one was shown publicly apparently while the second son was hidden but no one knows why and only those from the royal pack know of his existence. I found all of this out when I met an ex-member of the royal pack who turned rogue, but he doesn't know where the prince is." he explained everything. "So, all this time we thought Alex's mate had died during the attack but he's really alive and no one knows where?" I question making sure I didn't miss anything. Yes, Alpha but also on my way back home I sensed someone following." he added. "Do you know who?" I asked with piqued interest. "No, I only caught his scent." "And?" "He was from the Fire Moon Pack and...." he trails off. "And?" I ask again. "He's, my mate." he murmurs so low I almost don't catch it. "That's a good thing...right?" I question unsure. "Well, I suppose so, but we're not exactly allies" he says. "So, you being apart of my pack and most importantly my friend will never change no mate who your mate is." I tell him honestly shrugging my shoulders. "Thank you." "Don't mention it now come on let's head back to the pack so we can begin our search." I say getting up and walking out the diner. We both shred our clothes once we're in the woods and begin the short distance home.
