After a week-long fight, he finally texted her.

Manik - Can we meet today?

Nandini– Why? Do you want to break this relationship publically now?

Manik – I don’t know. You tell me? Will you come?

Nandini – No. If it’s over, there is no reason to meet again. 

Manik – I know it’s over but we can meet one last time. 

After thinking a while. 

Nandini – Ok. Where? 

Tells the place. 

She reaches there. Calls him. 

Nandini – Where are you?

Manik – I am so sorry, it will take 30 minutes more. 

Nandini– What? I am going home. 

Manik  – Please wait. I am just coming.

She never waited that long for him before but this time she did. Even when she knew things may end completely but she had a hope. In those 30 minutes, a lot was going in her mind. She knew a lot of mess has happened but still, that one hope made her come to meet him that day.

After 35 minutes. 

She calls again. 

Nandini – Where are you?

Manik – Behind you.

She looked back. He was there and all her anger and doubts were gone. They parked their vehicles and went to the restaurant. They sat and ordered. They were supposed to end their relationship but it looked more like a first date from their gestures.

He was shy and she was awkwardly blushing.

Nandini– So

Manik – So. So.

Nandini – Han toh kyu bulaya hai tumne ab? (So, why did you call me here?)

Manik– Toh tum aayi kyu? (Why did you come then?)

She looked at him and they smiled, smiled a little more. 

Manik – Bhot ladne lag gye the na hum? We had started fighting a lot. Right? 

Nandini – (In her mind – but more than that we loved each other) Yes, you’re right.

Manik – That means it was actually a right decision to end this relationship. 

Nandini– (In her mind – No it was a bad decision) Han. Ab khush hi nahi hai toh kya fayda sath rehne ka. Yes, if we are not even happy then there is no meaning of staying together. 

Manik– Sai baat. Alright. 

The waiter came and served. 

She started sipping her cold coffee and he, his beer. Even though they were there to break up but the way he was looking at her was hinting otherwise. You know that “I love you so much” kinda look. haha.

After a while, Manik said, “acha suno, ye btaao kesa hai”

Nandini– What?

Manik – Ye lo na? Table ke niche se pakdo. (Yes, this much shy and weird he is) Take this, take it from beneath the table.

She was confused. She bent and tried holding what he was giving her. He handed her a small box. She was shocked as it was a box of a ring.

As she opened the box with nervousness and excitement, he said, “Will you marry me”??

She didn’t know how to react. She was happy as well as emotional at the same time. Nobody has done that for her before. This made her happy but what made her the happiest was the things that he said afterward.

He is a shy person. Expressing himself is once in a blue moon kinda thing. But that evening what he said and the way he said made her feel the luckiest and happiest “In this one week, I realized how bad my days can be without you. I realized, it was only you who always tried to save our relationship and I, always took you for granted. It is actually not that hard to make you happy. You get happy with small efforts. And I will try my best every single day to give you the happiness that you deserve. Now, I won’t say no to clicking pictures. I will also take you to see the sunrise. I will call you every day. I will give my best to this relationship, to us. I want you and I want us to be together, today tomorrow and every day. I love you, baby. It’s tough without you.

Bus, uska itna kehna kaafi tha, usko emotional karne ke liye. She had tears in her eyes but she tried hiding them from him. She wanted to say a lot of things but her bad, right words were probably somewhere on their date too.

They left the place. Hugged each other awkwardly at the parking and went home.

While going home, she had a huge smile on her face and tears in her eyes which didn’t want to stop. She has always been that one unlucky girl when it comes to love. Even after loving so much, she never got to know how it feels to be loved. But this man made her feel, how being loved feels like, he made her feel she can also be someone’s choice, the only choice, he made her realize someone can also feel afraid losing her. She is sure one lucky and happy woman just because of her man, her superman. Omg, she is so in love with him.
