Chapter Fourteen- A Second Chance

1489 Words

With an unknown destination, the Lacewood charged atop the sea as those inside its treen make up attempted to procure Genevieve’s fiery personality that seemed to have been left aboard The Dead Man’s Raft. Unbeknownst to Crow, Genevieve had renewed the tragedy aboard Marrow’s ship throughout her mind as she laid within the confines of Crow’s bed in his Captain’s quarters, where she had been placed for the last few weeks. Although she would wake, she would eat and drink just enough to remain alive before falling back to the memory of Marrow’s fingers digging deep into her skin as he captured her virtue and ruined her purity. Her skin ached by the force he used having bruised her skin-bruises she attempted to hide from Helene with each attempt made to drag her from this melancholic conduct.
