Pregnant

It's been two weeks since Arya started working as Alex's secretary and she still finds it hard to believe she's married to this hot billionaire. "I like his hotness and all but he's so cold and rude. So what if he's a billionaire? He keeps ordering everyone around like we're his slaves" she thought to herself. The land phone in her office rang at that moment, bringing her back to reality and she picked the call immediately. One of the rules to follow as Alex's secretary is picking his call immediately so she always treat every call as his, to avoid that mistake. On the first day, he acted nicely and all that but the first thing Arya was met with on the second day was a long list of rules to follow as his secretary and most of them just sounded absurd to her. "Come to my office" he said obnoxiously as usual and ended the call immediately. "Yes sir?" Arya said while trying to catch her breath in his office already. In the rules, she has to be in his office 30 seconds after he ends the call and she also has to wear heels that will match his height so that he doesn't have to look down when talking to her. Unfortunately, Arya is a bit short compared to him. "Free up my schedule for the afternoon and reschedule it for tomorrow" he said. "Okay sir" she answered and waited for him to say something else because there's no way he called her here just to say that. "That's all, you can leave" he said without looking at her. "What the hell! Is he kidding me? I want to smack his face right now" she thought to herself as she glared hard at him. "Do you have something to say?" Alex asked, finally raising his head. "No sir, I will take my leave now" she said with a smile and turned around. "Wait!" Alex's voice stopped her. "When are we doing it?" he asked. "Doing what?" Arya asked. "Do I have to say it out loud? You seem okay at work but why are you so slow when it comes to this?" Alex huffed. "What is he talking about? Is it s*x? That's right! It must be s*x" Arya thought to herself. "I think it will be best if we take things slow, rushing into it won't do us any good" she said. "Really? You think I went into a contract with you because I want to take things slow? You seem to be forgetting that you only have 365 days so let me remind you now. What if we do it once and you don't get pregnant? It means we have to do it again and we only have three months to do all of that. Half of the first month is gone already and I can only wait till the end of the month. I was waiting for you to bring it up when you're ready but I don't think you will be ready anytime soon. We are going to do it by the end of the month so start getting ready now. I will let you know the exact date soon and send my driver to pick you up" Alex concluded. "Alright sir" Arya muttered and left after Alex dismissed her. "I almost forgot about the second part of being his secretary. Now that he brought it up, I'm starting to feel a bit anxious. I want to back out of it but I can't. Layla has always been there for me and I can't lose her for anything in the world. It's just 365 days and 15 days is gone already. Before you know it, the 365 days will be up and I will be able to live my life as usual" Arya thought to herself after returning to her office. *Evening* "My pretty secretary is back. How was work?" Layla greeted Arya with a hug immediately she got home. "It was fine. Working as a big boss's secretary surely feels different even though I've not worked for anyone else before" Arya said. "I still can't believe you got that job. I've been thinking it was a dream but no dream would last this long so it's definitely not a dream. We are really lucky and I regret asking you to give up on the interview" Layla said. "There's no need to regret anything because I also went there with a mindset that I won't get picked. Luck just happened to be on our side, that's all" Arya said. "I'm grateful for that too, let me get dinner" Layla said and stood up. Just then, a message from Alex popped up on Arya's phone. "We will be meeting at Essence hotel on the 29th of this month by 8 pm. I will ask my driver to pick you up by 7 :30 pm" the message stated. "I could feel it coming already and now it's finally here. I should get it done with as soon as possible" she said with a sigh as she stared at the message. "What is finally here?" Layla asked walking out of the kitchen with their dinner. "It's nothing, let's eat" Arya said and started eating immediately. When she returned home two weeks ago on her first day at work, Layla was so happy that she got the job. She didn't believe her at first but she later did after seeing the employment contract. Just like Arya had decided, she couldn't bring herself to tell Layla about the contract marriage with Alex. Layla would immediately go to Alex and ask him to terminate the contract even if it would cost her life so Arya just kept quiet about it. "I only have 350 days left and it will be over before I know it" she assured herself as she ate. It seemed to Arya like the days were running too fast as the 29th of the month stared right into her face. Alex's message was the first thing that greeted her that morning. It was a Saturday which means she didn't have to go to work so Alex reminded her about their meeting. Just like he said, a car came to pick Arya up at exactly 7:30 pm and they arrived at the hotel in twenty minutes. With her heavy legs and heart, Arya made her way to the hotel room where she met Alex waiting already. "I've taken a bath already and I'll wait for you to do the same. After you are done, I will turn off the lights to make it easier for you" Alex said after a few seconds of silence. Arya nodded her head softly and headed to the bathroom like he said. A bath robe was already there for her so she bathed and changed into it before returning to the room. Just like Alex said, he turned off the light and they proceeded to consummate their marriage. Arya didn't return home that night because of the pain she was feeling down there. Her sister would notice it right away so she lied about spending the night at a friend's place and returned home two days later. After two weeks, Arya went to the hospital as Alex instructed to check if she was pregnant or not. Unfortunately, the result turned out negative and she informed Alex about it. "Since you didn't get pregnant this time, we have to try again. I don't have much time so I really hope you get pregnant this time. The last time was painful for you so I will give you enough time to prepare yourself before we do it again" Alex said. "Thank you. We can do it again by the end of this month because like you said, there's no much time left" Arya said. Two weeks into the third month from the day of the contract, Arya went to the hospital again to check if she was pregnant. She didn't check the result because of how nervous she was and just gave it to Alex instead. "Y... you're pregnant?" Alex stuttered. "I'm pregnant?" Arya asked and looked up at him. "That's what the report says. I was scared that you won't be pregnant again but I'm relieved now" Alex said. "I'm pregnant? So there's a life growing inside of me?" Arya thought to herself as she touched her stomach subconsciously. "Now that you are pregnant, it's time to meet my grandma. Remember that the contract marriage must be kept a secret, we have to make her believe we are in love. Also, we will start living together after one month so start preparing from now on" Alex said. "Yes sir" Arya answered and left his office. "He couldn't even smile at the news, is he not happy to be a father?" she thought with a frown on her face. Anyway, now that I'm pregnant it means I only have nine months to go and then I can get out of this contract and be a free girl again. It's time for Layla to go to the hospital. When Arya signed the contract, she pleaded with Alex to give her an advance for the first month and he did. Unfortunately, Layla said she didn't want to have the surgery yet in case something goes wrong during the surgery and she can't see her precious sister again. She decided to wait until the third month before getting the surgery so that she can spend enough time with Arya. "Sis, you have to go to the hospital this week or I will be really sad. The doctor is a professor and is known as one of the best in the field. Just trust him and get the surgery okay?" Arya said after dinner that evening. "Alright. I will go to the hospital this weekend and start receiving treatment. Like you said, I will trust the doctor" Layla said. Alex wanted to introduce Arya to his grandmother that weekend but she couldn't make it because of her sister's appointment so they pushed it back till the following weekend. Alex personally took Arya for shopping and bought expensive clothes for her so that she won't feel out of place when she meets his family, especially his step brother that hates him and wants to take over the company. His uncle also hates him because he feels the company should have been passed to him instead of his immature nephew so Alex doesn't have a good relationship with his family except his grandmother. Arya wore a short black gown that evening which complemented her fair skin. She matched it with a silver purse and black heels, her hair was tied up in a messy bun to accentuate her neck and even though she was from an average family, the aura around her that evening was that of the wealthiest young lady in America. Alex was stunned the moment he laid his eyes on her and he couldn't move for a few minutes. "Is something wrong with my dress?" Arya asked when she couldn't take it anymore. "N..no, let's go" he said and turned to look outside the window until they arrived at their destination. With a smile on his face, he stretched out his arm and gestured to Arya to hold onto him as they walked gracefully inside the mansion. To be continued... © Tricia
