Episode Thirty-four

1903 Words
Devyn glided with an athletic grace without skipping a beat. "So, what do we got?" he asked as he walks down the passage dressed in a different set of black shirts and pants, in addition to his slim-fit coat. His grey eyes darted communally to the route they took next. "Nothing yet," Casey told him "It appears to be a code that represents something, and would require more information to truly tell what it means" "That can wait," he told her exquisitely "You might want to get ready" he directed to Milo who gave a sceptical look. "I need to visit the hotel, you wait for my command" "Alone?" Milo let out. "Yes, Milo. Alone" "It's 2 am" Casey reminded him. And he turned to her while dressing the arm of his coat. "I'm quite away of that fact," He says neutrally. "leave no trace of me" He declared as he began to make his way to the garage. Devyn walked into the hotel lobby with the swagger of a person one wish not to lock eyes with, let alone cross. Yet in a way majestic. The lobby seemed busy for the hour of the night but relaxed at the same time. With Casey's direction, he arrived at a section of the hotel where a few populace were enjoying their night, a fancy setting with some expensive-looking ladies and lovely music in the background. A very exquisite sight if Devyn may say. When he came upon the target in the company of two ladies, Devyn decided to busy himself by getting a drink from the front. Though through the glass in front of him, he stared at the man for a moment, then let his usual charm drop. The waiter had barely brought his drink when the cellphone of the target began to vibrate and swiftly he passed some cash to the ladies and began to leave the room, a glimpse at the man and Devyn passed the server some cash, his fingers buried within the warm of the glove he wore, and then he made his way calmly after the target. He extends his hand as the elevator was about to close and then stepped in. Bold. Not even blinking as much as the average person. And then he moved to stand at the corner. Silently they stood and Devyn made no move to put in his floor number which did bring the target's watch, yet none made even the slightest of action. It was as if the time was counting backwards and in a blink the man reached for his gun which immediately clattered from his hand as he went limp, his back slanted against the wall before he slowly slid off and lay on the base. Devyn had slammed his hand against his windpipe, hard and brisk before he was able to put up the gun. Just as if nothing had happened, Devyn lowered himself and took out the man's room card, gun and cell phone before the elevator door finally opened. Devyn's eyes travelled to the young lady whose mercury-red hair tumbled over her shoulders. With the same breasts as the ones the television has to offer. She pulled up the bed cover, and a pair of arched eyebrows looked in Devyn's direction. "Who the hell are you?" A man's voice came through, only in his shorts as he emerged from the bathroom. "Someone you wish not to see," Devyn answered with a little head tilt. Immediately, the man rushes to grab his firearm but was instead shot in a second by Devyn. "Dress up and leave the room," He told the girl and then dropped the gun on a desk. He reached and grabbed the man's cell phone and instantly exited the room Casey stared at the screen a moment, and then grabbed her cell phone the moment it vibrates."Yes," she says with the phone placed to her ear. "I need you to unlock the phones," Devyn requested, and Casey watched on the screen with the help of the lens Devyn wore as he connected the cell phones to a cord. "Go for it," He said once the two phones were plugged in. "Alight," Casey typed for a while before her fingers tensed against the keypad, irritated. She sighed as the bold letter LOCKED appeared on the screen and when she tried to continue an alarm beep came along with a bold ERROR on the screen, "What the hell?" She leaned in to take a proper look at the word. "What?" Devyn asked. "It's a military-grade encryption" She replied and Milo shifted to her side. "So how long do you need?" She sighed, "Long enough" And then instantly she dived in "This can crack anything" She mumbled. Her brows knit together as her fingers raced over the keyboard, the screen black with a green front, and on the screen of the two cell phones the inscription 'sync in progress' appeared and shortly the phones went blank. "I'm in," She let out, her fingers still racing across the keyboard and soon the phones were unlocked and dialling a line. There appeared a map on her computer screen signifying the location "I found the location. Sending it now," "Got it. Milo head to the location, I will meet you there" "Sure," He answered and swiftly exited the room. Milo first arrived at the location which seems to be a huge abandoned factory. A tent, about 50 feet high and several hundred feet long is a taut grey canvas membrane supported by aluminium columns. He drove the motorbike to a corner and highlighted before his gaze scanned the area. "Should be around there" Casey's voice came through the earbuds. "Easy," Casey cautioned as Milo walked into a section of the building "There are a lot of cameras. But I could follow the wiring to find out where they all link up. Perhaps there is something I can do to reduce the eyes on you..." She continued to go through her computer "Okay, this is the most likely place where the call came from and from the look of it, it quite stands out from the rest of the building. Which I tell you is hell far from the location you're right now. You won't be able to get there alone, you should wait for Devyn" "Oh, f**k. Just guide me" Milo groaned. "Then, you might need that bike back" The sound of the bike as Milo raced across the series of buildings alerted the men and soon a few rode behind him and soon began aiming bullets at him. He was about to talk before a truck rode out of a corner in front which made him navigate to a different route. Reaching a division at the extreme, he rides his bike across the curved wall which almost caused his bike to tumble but was lucky to handle the gravity well. "Turn left in twelve seconds, then go straight" Casey's voice came. "Eight, seven, six..." "Do whatever you have to do," A command came from the men's leader. "Twenty-five seconds ahead and you will be at the building, which I'm willing to assume will be heavily guarded. You still think you want to take this up yourself?" Casey asked but was yet to receive a response when Milo tumbled off his bike as an RPG-29 that was directed from the main building crashed behind him. The men reached the spot only to find Milo's bike and no sign of him. "The intruder is on the loose," One reported back to their leader. "Stop him at all costs" The man gave an order and walked into the control room. The loud sound of the alarm cramped the area. Milo secretly made his way to a large door which was locked and just as he heard the faint footsteps he hide behind a wall "Just how many are you, damn people?" He cursed. He waited till the people exited the space "Get me past that door," "Working on it" She hit the return key. The alarms stopped and the door unlocked. "Let them figure that one out" she sighed. Except bullets start raining in Milo's direction the moment he crossed the entrance. "f**k," He uttered profanitly as he jumped behind a shield. "I can't stand these barbarians. All they're good for is waving guns around like idiots!" "There are many of them in the room, you should be quick before more comes in" Casey advised as she surveyed the room on the screen. "That's easier said than done. You think I'm sitting here just for kicks? If I miss a step out there, I'm gonna take one in the head for sure" Milo returned, keeping his head low as a series of shots came his way. "Not my problem. You should have listened when I asked you to wait for Devyn–" Her eyes suddenly popped up "Get away from there, now!" Casey urged loudly and just as he moved from the location did a bomb collision wreck the niche, due to the impact, his lens fell off and just as he was about to pick it up– bullets trailed at him. "f**k, that was close," Milo breathed out. But then he had left the lens behind. "Damit, lost signal" Casay cursed. "He's hiding behind the fallen lockers," The commander told them through their headphones. "I can't see, it's dark in here. Do something, Casey!" Milo called out in a desperate attempt to figure out a way out of the spot he was in. If only he knew where the shooters were. "I'm on it," She returned frantically going through her computer and soon the cellphones of the shooters went off giving him the location of each one of them and with a quick move his bullet trained on them one after the other. "Okay, I guess it's time to get in there" "Be careful, the cameras are off. Someone had shut down the system and you lost your lens. So be careful not to get shot" "Yeah, I heard you the first time," He says as he passed through a passage and a shot came abruptly once he tried to show his face to the next route he was about to take "Damnit. Here goes nothing" he was about to make a move when bullets tore through the door opposite the route, sending splinters flying and Milo grinned when he glimpsed the shooter as Devyn, in his hand, an M249 SAW. Swiftly, Devyn passed him a firearm and both gradually began to close up with the men. A man suddenly popped from behind, Milo's reaction was subconscious, automatic. He fired at the man and the backup who came after him while Devyn continued to close up with the commander and the remaining men. The shooting continued, but Devyn's own abruptly came to a stop as he exhausted his animation. And immediately the leader lunged for Devyn's gun, but Devyn rolled his hands down and away with a minor wing chun deflection and snapped the gun up hard into the bottom of the man's chin, popping his jaw like a rat trap. The gun flicked again, and this time, Devyn hit him in the Adams' apple. The man clutched at his throat, choking as his face turned bright red. "What's the matter? Has someone lost the itch to fight?" Devyn spoke.
