Chapter Forty-Nine
"I was paid!"
Paul relaxed as soon as those words came out of the frightened man. After uttering those words, Mr Edward broke down in sobs, and resumed his pleafing with renewed fervour.
"Please, please forgive me! I just could not resist." He brought his hands up before and rubbed them together, pleading "I had to save my daughter. I did it for my daughter!"
"Do not bring your daughter into this!" Liam admonished "you have been taking care of her through honourable means all through, suddenly you defame a man and you want to use her as your excuse?!"
This only increased the man's sobbing, and Paul cast a reproving look at Liam, who immediately backed down.
