Chapter Fifty-Six
Nathan sighed deeply as he listened to Minerva's words
"Find a different dinner partner. I don't think I'll ever return."
Those words cut through his heart, and he closed his eyes in anguish. However, he didn't allow it to despair him.
"Sure." He said brusquely, making sure his voice was void of any emotion he was feeling.
"Yeah. Goodbye, Nathan." Her soft voice came to him, soothing and like a dream and he closed his eyes again when he heard the dial tone click, signaling the end of the call.
Nathan stood by the window, reminiscing on their conversation. It's been three years and Minerva was still bent on not returning.
