At the Sommers residence, as soon as Rose entered, she saw a group of people gathered in the living area. A man was holding up a measuring tape against Melissa's body while several others around them were busy looking over various fabrics and dress patterns.
"Rose, you're back,” Richard said when he saw her. Alerted, Melissa also glanced at her with a mocking expression. “Did everything go well at the company today?"
"It went very well,” Rose replied briefly. Not wanting to engage with them more than that, she smiled and headed straight upstairs.
Melissa smirked behind her with an air of disdain. "If being ridiculed behind your back is going well, then yes, it's going well," she said, causing Richard to feel embarrassed.
This daughter of mine is quite the loudmouth! he thought.
