A CLASH OF ATTRACTIONS

Sharon was the first to notice Richard. She didn’t even know where she got the strength to push Mike away. The latter looked back and saw Richard standing there. Mike was shocked at first but he waved it off by laughing.

“What are you doing with my girlfriend?” Richard asked Mike jealousy. He was quite angry but he had to keep calm to avoid complications.

“Nothing, Richard. I was only playing with her to check her reaction. It’s not anything harmful! Don’t you trust me?” Mike told Richard now.

Richard didn’t talk again. He went to Sharon, held her hand and pulled her up from where she was seated. He took her to a seat opposite Mike to prevent other unwanted circumstances.

“What was that?” Mike asked his friend. “Do you really think I would want to do something to your girlfriend? Come on, stop being childish. It is me being playful!”

“I never did this to your girlfriend,” Richard replied. “I do not want you to play like this with my girlfriend. Understood?”

“I don’t have a girlfriend…” Mike clarified. “And also, I would be more careful when playing with your girlfriend.”

“Better! My property is not supposed to be your property!” Richard told him and sat down beside Sharon. This made Sharon quite uncomfortable. She felt like she was being toyed with by the two friends.

“I could play with your property, you know…” Mike teased.

“Hell no!” Richard shouted back at him.

They continued their banter. Sharon was getting bored so she sought permission for her best friend to come visiting. This was not in accordance with the contract but because Mike was there, Richard agreed as it would seem weird if he refused.

Sharon’s best friend's name was Cindy. She was 26 years old. Cindy, even as she was a year older than Sharon, was weaker than Sharon. Both of them were best of friends and their similarities were more than the areas they didn’t fit. Cindy was quite naive and she hadn’t experienced a proper romantic relationship.

Sharon sent the address via text message to Cindy. The latter was excited to come over. After thirty minutes, Cindy called Sharon via phone call to inform her that she had arrived. Sharon told Richard this and he also informed his security men to let her in and hand her over to a maid to bring her into the interior building.

Cindy also marveled upon seeing the gigantic building. She didn’t expect something as huge as that. Sharon had stylishly told her that Richard was very rich but Cindy still didn’t expect this.

Cindy met Sharon in the hallway and they hugged with Cindy whispering in Sharon’s ear asking her how she cut such a big fish. Cindy wanted to know how she met Richard but Sharon decided to postpone this. Sharon knew the contract came with a confidentiality agreement and she wouldn’t be able to disclose the details to anyone.

Cindy and Sharon caught up on old times while Sharon led her friend to the living room where Mike and Richard were seated. Immediately Cindy saw Mike, she felt attracted to him instantly. He looked really cool and he was typically her type. She kept this to herself though.

Sharon did the introductions. Cindy was very glad when she found out that Sharon’s boyfriend wasn’t Mike who she already had her eyes on.

Richard and Mike began to play cards and they invited Sharon and Cindy to also participate. However, Cindy declined and she said she would rather go have a chat with her friend. Instantly, Cindy pulled Sharon aside and told her that they needed to talk. Sharon led her to her personal room where they would have no distractions.

As they entered the room, Cindy closed the door to prevent sudden interruptions. She was eager to discuss how she was attracted to Mike.

“Is Mike single?” Cindy asked carefully.

“Why are you asking me such a delicate question? It’s strange!” Sharon replied. She wanted to know why Cindy was asking that question before she answered. However, Cindy was more anxious. She knew that persistence would let her have her way.

“Tell me, Sharon. It’s not a delicate question. Tell me the truth and I would answer whatever question you have,” Cindy noted. She was serious now and she wondered how she would feel if Mike was really married or in a serious relationship.

“Okay,” Sharon replied. “I don’t know how truthful this is but Mike said he is single. I heard this while we were having a discussion. I hope this satisfies you? Now you have to tell me the reason behind this question.”

Cindy smiled. She was glad that Mike was single. This made her feel like she could go ahead with dating him.

“Well, I don’t know how serious this is but I think I am in love with Mike. It is love on first sight. I don’t know how he feels about me…” Cindy noted naively. She was smiling cutely.

Sharon began to laugh.

“What do you expect him to think of you? Both of you met today and you haven’t spent thirty minutes together. Is it that easy to fall in love with someone?” Sharon wanted to know.

“Time doesn’t matter! I also fell in love with him within this short period…” Cindy continued to say.

“But not everyone is like you, Cindy. And also, from the time I have spent with Mike, I can tell that he is a…” Sharon tried to say but she cut herself short. She wanted to say that she felt Mike was a playboy and a flirt. However, she knew this would hurt Cindy. She decided to hold this information to herself.

“What did you want to say?” Cindy asked carefully.

“It’s nothing! Let’s change the topic…” Sharon requested. Cindy understood and she brought out a topic she had been waiting to talk about.

“Listen up, you are yet to tell me how you met Richard. We spoke lately and we have met lately as well, however, I knew nothing about Richard till now. That’s quite surprising and suspicious if you ask me. Have you been hiding him or both of you met recently?” Cindy wanted to know.

At that same moment, they heard a knock on the door. This was the perfect distraction which Sharon needed to put off Cindy’s numerous questions.

Sharon went to see the person at the door and it was Mike. He offered to take both Sharon and Cindy shopping and they agreed. Richard feigned tiredness that he wanted to take a nap but both Sharon and Mike knew he didn’t want to spend.

Mike took the two girls shopping and Cindy noticed the fact that Mike was quite into Sharon. Mike didn’t pay any attention to Cindy at all and this hurt her.

Cindy called Sharon and told her that Mike was into her. Sharon knew this but she waved it off by telling Cindy that he was only trying to bond with her as his best friend’s girlfriend.

But Cindy wouldn’t be deceived. She didn’t mind this but also try to get Mike to be attracted to her. However, this didn’t work at all.

Mike drove the girls back to Richard’s mansion with a lot of clothes, shoes, bags, and other accessories.

All of them went to rest in the living room. Minutes after their arrival, a young lady came into the mansion.

The lady was

Richard’s female friend, Rose.

Rose hugged Richard and kissed him. Sharon took in this scene with deep interest.

“Who are these girls?” Rose asked Richard. She held Richard’s hand and helped him wrap his hands around her waist.
