“We might just have got lucky at last,” Ross said, as he and Izzie Drake sat in the office of D.C.I. Oscar Agostini. “If we can obtain a DNA sample from either of the two Albert Cretinghams, and if Doctor Newton runs a DNA scan in comparison with the alien blood samples obtained from the clothes of the 1966 victims, we'll know that Reginald Cretingham was the original killer. It's a shame that semen doesn't retain viable DNA for more than the life of the sperm, which certainly isn't thirty-nine years, but the blood should be enough.”
“And that could mean?”
“That Edwin Cretingham is our killer, sir,” Drake responded. “We've already eliminated the two Alberts from our investigation and the only remaining Cretingham is Edwin.”
