The biggest surprise of Ross's day came with the arrival of Detective Inspector Morris just after 3 p.m. that afternoon. Kat Bellamy, knocked and poked her head round the door to his office, where he was in deep discussion with Izzie Drake, Sofie Meyer and Paul Ferris.
“There's a D.I. Morris here to see you, Mr. Ross,” she announced.
“Show her in please, Kat,” Ross replied “and do you think you can organise some coffees for us all, please? We're b****y parched in here.”
“No problem,” Kat replied with a knowing smile on her face as she spoke to the newcomer, still out of sight behind her. “Please go in, D.I. Morris.”
