As we drove towards a fast-food joint to pick up some dinner, all three of us sat in silence. Every one of us feeling the same way after seeing the news report about poor Delores. It seemed that anyone who was willing to help us wound up dead. First max, now Delores. I knew now what Dylan felt this morning after witnessing Max’s brutal death, I felt extremely guilty for involving that poor waitress in our mess. No innocent people should be killed in such a horrific way, especially not one as kind and courageous as Delores.   I tried to shake of the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, this was no time for sentimentality. The threat to us all, especially Rose, is still out there. We could mourn the loss of Delores and Max later, right now we all had to focus on ending whatever business
