I stare in disbelief while processing what my father was telling me. It isn’t that I don’t believe what he is saying is true, but more like it was impossible to believe given how strong and arrogant he has always been.
He was the one that taught me that showing emotion would end up leading to having weakness. So, how was it possible that he would even allow something like that to happen to him?
“Don’t look at me like that,” he sighs. “I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s true.”
