I round the corner of my building and almost run right into someone.
“Shite!” I yell, not in the mood to be nice. “Watch where you"re going.”
“Sorry Gabby,” Allison says as she tries to make sure I"m okay.
“Don"t touch me!” I snap. “I"m fine. Just leave me alone.”
I try to move past her, but she steps in front of me yet again.
“Gabby, what"s wrong? Are you sure you"re okay?” she asks.
I can"t see her face in the dark, but I can imagine the sympathetic look and just want to get away.
“I"m just peachy,” I say, my voice lower, and she takes a step back.
“You finally went into the labs.” She isn"t asking. She already knows.
“Were you following me?” I ask.
“Yes,” she answers.
