Lee and I waited in Adrian"s office, but he never returned and by the time we left, it was dark. Lee insisted on walking me home. As we reach the steps, I remember the promise I made to get Allison the key card.
“I left something in Adrian"s office,” I tell Lee as I reenter the building.
“Do you want me to wait for you?” he asks.
“No, go ahead,” I holler over my shoulder.
Since Adrian never came back, his office is still unlocked when I slip in. I know exactly where he keeps his master cards. The second desk drawer has a false bottom and everything Adrian has that"s important is in there.
