Epilogue
Mason lay in Jordie’s arms as they sprawled across their beds fully clothed. Jordie rubbed Mason’s shoulders and even knowing he can become intangible is amazed at the tight muscles he can feel.
“What if all of this has been Madame’s maneuvering?” asked Mason.
“What everything? We know she targeted Stephanie for this because of her rebellion. She says the man went too far in seducing her.”
“What about us?”
“She didn’t have to maneuver me to you. Hell, I’ve been trying for a year to get your attention.
Mason laughed. “You had my attention. I was just confused by everything.”
“But we came together as perhaps partners and as a team.”
“I know it all came together at the same time of Stephanie’s supposed rebellion. It all seems so pat, so orchestrated,” wondered Mason.
