  Hailey   God, if those weren't the words women dreamed of hearing.   For a fleeting second, just for a fleeting second, I softened. Vulnerability seeped through his every word, every touch. He held me as if letting go would shatter him. But then reality struck. The truth loomed over me like a storm cloud.   What was the truth was- he had made me feel like the same way my shithole of a father did. He made me press my hands against my ears just stop...those sounds that somewhat terrified me equally and reminded of everything I and my mother escaped.   No. I couldn't falter.
