Sisters Betrayal

My own sister had sold me like a piece of meat, and now she was back to twist the knife even deeper.

I was still shaken from the latest attack when one of Alessio’s men knocked on the bedroom door. “There is a visitor. Your sister Sophia. She says she will only speak to you.”

My stomach dropped. Alessio and Luca both stood up immediately, their faces dark with suspicion.

“No way,” Alessio said. “It could be a trap.”

Luca crossed his arms. “Let her in but search her first. We stay in the room with Liana.”

I wanted to argue, but the truth was I needed answers. I nodded. “Bring her in. I want to hear what she has to say.”

Minutes later, Sophia walked into the living room looking different. Her usual perfect appearance was gone. She had dark circles under her eyes and her hands trembled slightly. Two guards stood behind her.

“Liana,” she said softly when she saw me. “I am so sorry.”

I stood up, anger burning through me. “Sorry? You drugged me and threw me to these men. You ruined my life. Why should I believe anything you say?”

Sophia glanced nervously at the twins. “I did not have a choice. Father made me do it.”

The words hit me hard. “What?”

She sat down slowly. “Our family was in deep debt to the Moretti family. Marco was going to kill Dad if the engagement did not go through. But then Victor Kane offered Dad a better deal. He wanted you as leverage against the Romano brothers. Dad agreed. I was ordered to drug you and make sure you ended up with Alessio. Or Luca. It did not matter which one.”

I felt the room spin. “Dad knew? He sold me too?”

Sophia nodded, tears in her eyes. “It was supposed to be simple. Get you pregnant fast and use the baby as a bargaining chip. But things went wrong when the twins both claimed you. Now Victor Kane is furious. He thinks I failed him.”

Luca stepped forward, his voice dangerous. “Why are you telling us this now?”

“Because Victor has put a hit on me,” Sophia whispered. “And on Liana. He knows the truth about our family. He wants to wipe out anyone connected to the failed plan. I came here to warn you, Liana. You are not safe. None of us are.”

Alessio’s face turned to stone. “You expect us to believe this after everything you did?”

“I have proof,” Sophia said. She pulled out her phone and showed messages between our father and Victor Kane. Clear plans. Money transfers. Instructions to drug me and deliver me that night.

I read the messages with tears running down my face. My own father had betrayed me. The man who was supposed to protect me had used me as a pawn. Everything I thought I knew about my family was a lie.

“You destroyed me,” I said to Sophia, my voice breaking. “For what? Money? Power?”

“I had no choice,” she cried. “They would have killed me if I refused.”

The tension in the room grew thicker. Alessio and Luca exchanged a look. For once they seemed to agree on something.

“This changes things,” Alessio said. “Victor will come harder now that he knows we have the truth.”

Luca turned to me. “We need to keep you locked down. No leaving the penthouse.”

But before anyone could say more, Sophia’s phone rang. She looked at the screen and her face went pale. “It is him. Victor.”

She answered on speaker. Victor Kane’s cold voice filled the room. “Sophia. You went to them. Big mistake. Tell your sister that her time is almost up. The Romano twins are weak and divided. We are coming for all of you. And Liana, if you are listening, know that your father already gave you up once. He will do it again.”

The call ended. Silence fell over the room.

Sophia looked at me with real fear in her eyes. “I am sorry, Liana. I never wanted this for you. But you need to run. They will kill you to hurt the twins.”

Alessio pulled me close to him. “She is not going anywhere. We will protect her.”

Luca stepped closer on my other side. “She belongs to us now. Not to your family. Not to Victor.”

I stood between the two brothers, my mind reeling from the revelations. My father had sold me. My sister had betrayed me. And now a powerful enemy wanted me dead because of their failed plan.

The war was no longer just about the twins fighting over me. It had become something much bigger and much deadlier.

I looked at Sophia, the sister I once trusted, and felt nothing but cold betrayal. “Get out,” I said quietly. “I never want to see you again.”

As guards escorted her away, I realized the truth. My old life was completely gone. I was stuck in this dangerous new world with two possessive men who both claimed me as theirs.

And the worst betrayals were still to come.
