Chapter 17: Warrior Princess

The moment I stepped out of his chambers, I could feel my heart beating rapidly. The guard looked at me, then focused back on his duty.
I quickly walked out of his quarters, my legs trembling with every step I took.
I was so lost in thought that I didn't notice when I hit a wall, but walls don't speak, because I heard it groan.
"You aren't watching."
The same familiar voice said, and that's when I looked up. It was the beta, Beta Taylor, and he smelt like he had just stepped out of the shower.
What was with all these people and showers?
I thought.
"You seem like you were being chased. Who was chasing after you?"
I heard him ask, and I swallowed my breath, staring back at the direction of the alpha's quarters. As if he knew, I heard him chuckle
