Killian’s pov Killian's study was a disaster. The immaculate room had been reduced to chaos. The heavy oak desk had been knocked onto its side. Papers were scattered across the floor, some crumpled beneath overturned chairs. A glass lay shattered near the fireplace, its fragments glittering beneath the dim light. Killian stood by the enormous window, his hands braced against the frame. Beyond the glass, the ocean stretched beneath the darkening sky. Usually, the sight calmed him but tonight, it did nothing.
