To The Moon And Back

Chapter 8

One could not believe of the deal that was made on this day, an empty vessel making a deal with half a soul. What a joke, or so the half soul thought.

Lily was a sinister soul but she was a woman of her words, being set free meant providing the vessel with the knowledge of where her powers were. That was an easy task for Lily as her very being had half the vessel’s powers locked away and could only be opened once the two souls reconnected.

All the vessel needed to know was where her powers were nothing more and nothing less. Which left Lily a massive advantage, she had been dying to have a body once again even if it was only with half her soul. She looked at the pathetic shield up in the sky and tsked shaking her head in amusement before she shot into the sky expecting to burst through the shield. What greeted her was not what she had in mind.

An electric current shot through her body the moment she reached the shield, mere inches from touching it. Her body spazmed as a high voltage of electricity shot through her body once more.

Lila felt satisfied from deep within her mind, she may have been an empty vessel but she sure had a sharp mind for a body with no soul.

“Gahhh!” Lily cried as her body was locked in place experiancing such an intence amount of pain.

The scent of burnt meat hung in the air before her body free fell from the sky and hit the ground hard, leaving a dent on the ground. Lily breathed heavily before she got a grip of herself and sat up, clenching a fistful of moon soil in anger.

“Well played vessel,” she spat out blood on the ground before getting up, ”My turn.” Lily smirked.

She created a bow made of pure gold before she held it up towards the sky, an arrow of blinding light appeared as she pulled back the string. The arrow had an intense amount of power as it was filled with every magic energy Lily had in her. She smirked as she aimed it directly at the shields weakest point.

“Got you,” Lily proudly said.

Lila watched from deep within her own head, only wishing she had a snack to watch the disaster that was about to happen.

Lily released the arrow of light that shot up into the sky at top speed, she had a triumph look on her face. Her smirk dropped as the arrow hit the shirld and only bounced off before being sent back to its origin.

“s**t,” Lily growled before she jumped out of the way.

The arrow hit the ground followed by a massive explosion that shook the moon. Lily held up a shield to protect herself from the harsh heat and wind coming from the explosion. Her bare feet twisted in the ground using the moons surface as an anchor keeping her in place. She gritted her teeth as she held her ground against the piecing wind, once the explosion died out she let down her shield. Her chest heaving up and down from exaustion, this was not what she expected and the longer she was trapped on the moon the angrier she got.

Lila on the other hand had a front row seat at Lily’s failure, literally.

“Oh you little s**t,” Lily growled as she clenched her fists hard.

A gust of wind surounded her the angrier she got, her jet black hair flying in every direction.

‘Dont be mad at me, we had a deal. I delivered my end now its your turn,’ Lila said through narrowed eyes as she checked her wrist.

Time sure went slowly on the moon which aggrivated Lila, she just wanted the day to be over already.

“Sure thing a deals a deal after all. Your powers are trapped in both parts of your soul. The only way to get them is for the soul to want to return to its body. I for one know for sure that the other half does not wish to be returned, me on the other hand love this body but you just gotta do afew things for me before you can have your powers back.” Lily smirked.

‘Of course there was a catch,’ she growled in annoyence.

“Theres always a catch with me sweatheart,” Lily said snarkly said as she summoned another golden bow.

‘Havent you tried that already?’ Lila asked with a raised brow.

“Indeed i have,” Lily smirked as she seemed to have a plan in mind.

She aimed the bow once more towards the shield and sumoned another arrow but this one was made of pure darkness. Shadows danced on the arrow, its very presence screaming evil.

“This is what i call an arrow of death, pay close attention sweaty cause you might learn something.” Lily proudly said before she released the arrow that shot into the sky at lightning speed.

The arrow moved faster then the speed of sound before it shot straught through the shield. Lila was shocked for abit before her face was blank once more, Lily on the otherhand smiled triumphly.

“Nothing can keep me caged up,” she said before flying through the sky and bursting through the shield.

Her victory was short lived as the shield exposed tenticles that wrapped around her body tightily and began dragging her down. She grunted and tried to use all her strength to get free but it didnt work, she engulphed herself in pure blue flames, the hottest type of flame. But even that couldnt stop the tenticles from dragging her down.

She used her strength to try and fly out of its grip,the shield itself surrounded the moon, which meant she had to be stronger then Lila pegged her to be if she managed to move at all.

Never underestimate a demon, a lesson Lila will never forget.

Before Lila’s very eyes, she watched as Lily slowly but surely moved the moon about a centimeter before her strength gave out and was pulled back into the orbit of the moon.

She hit the ground hard and stayed down.

“Well played you damn vessel,” Lily said out of breath.

‘I learned from the best,’ Lila smirked proudly.

Lily rolled her eyes in annoyence as she breathed heavily on the moon before she sat up and sat cross legged.

“Your memories are trapped within this part of your soul.” Lily randomly said as she gazed up at the shield around the moon.

‘Then return them as promised,’ Lila said.

“No can do, you see releasing them would be certain death for me and i for one am a selfish prick and want to live.” Lily shrugged her shoulders.

‘So youre saying i can never get my memories back and if i try ill just end up destroying them in the first place?’ Lila asked to confirm what she heard.

“Indeed,” Lily said.

‘What the hell did i do to deserve this punishment?’ Lila asked with a heavy sigh as she sat down in her cage.

“Now thats a damn good question, and speaking of questions i never answered yours.” Lily said as if remebering something.

‘What question?’ Lila asked.

“Whats my name,” Lily reminded me with an anoyed shake of her head.

‘Oh right, so whats your name?’ Lila asked once more.

“Whats your name?” Lily asked Lila.

‘I wouldnt be asking you that if i knew,’ Lila said in annoyence.

“I know you know your name you just refuse to dig deep and find it. I’ve given you the answer now its your turn to to do the hard work.” Lily said before she got up and dusted heself off.

‘Whats my name?’ Lila asked as she thought deeply.

“Good luck with that sweatheart,” Lily smirked wickedly before she began walking god knows where.

On the other side of the moon was a moon rover that collected rocks from the moon, a little camera was attached to it as it videod everything in sight. It moved at a steady pace with someone watching everything on the monitor.

In that moment something happened, a gust of wind pushed the rover on its side unexpectedly. A fog surrounded the rover before it managed to flip itself back upright. Not far from the rover was a dome where humans were experianced what it was like to live on the moon. One perticular human who was struggling not to fall asleep as they watched the monitor on the rover suddenly woke up at what he saw.

“Guys come check this out,” astronaught Joshua spoke to his coworkers who quickly came to him.

Joshua rewinded the tape and showed them what he saw, everyone was flabbergasted at the sight before them.

“Finally a breakthrough,” astronaught Lara said in glee.

“Not so fast Lara we still need to find the sauce of that sudden wind,” astornaught Noah said logically.

“On it,” astronaught Joshua said as he began taking control of the rover and drove it towards the sauce of the wind.

Luckily for them it wasnt a far trip before the rover nearly fell into a giant whole.

“Careful i***t,” Lara yelled at Joshua.

“Watch it, this requires alot of consetration.” Joshua swatted her hand away.

“Oh please youre just playing with a robot whats so hard about that,” Lara rolled her eyes at him.

“For a bunch of astronaughts you sure do act like children.” Noah said disapprovingly.

“Look whose talking mr dont touch my yogurt,” Joshua rolled his eyes at Noah before he manuvered the rover around the giant crate.

“I wonder what crated this? Do you guys think there might be aleins out there?” Lara gasped in excitement.

“Keep dreaming,” Noah said.

The three astronaughts watched the screen intently as Joshua drove the rover further and further from their location. The rover drove over mini dunes and ditches before driving on a somewhat level ground. It didnt take long for the rover to come at the sauce of the massive gust of wind.

“Is that a-” Joshua was too stunned to speak.

“Human?” lara finished for him with a wide mouth.

Noah squinted his eyes and tried to understand what he saw. It appeared to be a silhouette of a human but amidst the fog it couldve been a wierdly shaped rock or one of their broken rovers but with the shape of a human? Now that was abit far fetched.

“Get a better look,” Noah demanded with determination.

“Ay ey captain,” Joshua said too stunned to care about being ordered.

The rover drove closer towards the figure and the closer it got the clearer the figure got.

Lily sensed the small object from miles away but it was of no concern to her so she discard it untill it came towards her. She looked down at it with a blanck expresion, she scanned the machine and saw it posed no threat to her. But she sensed something off about it as if she was being watched by it. It didnt take long to see the red blinking light which indicated a live recording. She used her powers to see through the camera and onto the other side as a two way mirror.

Lily saw three human figures staring back at her with wide eyes.

“Well what do we have here.” Lily smiled exposing all her razor sharp teeth.

Lara fainted on the spot, Noah caught her with his heart beating out of control. Joshua on the other hand immidiatly pressed the live recording button that sent the live feed to the international space station on earth. He knew the time would be delayed by about an hour but atleast they would still recieve the video before anything happened to them.

“Its a good thing i skipped breakfast because i am starving,” Lily licked her lips, revealing a long lizard tongue.

‘Stop scaring them,’ Lila growled.

“Who said im scaring them, im just tenderising my meal.” Lily drooled before she used her powers and teleported through the tv screen the astronaughts were watching through.

“Dinner is served,” Lily rubbed her hands hungrily.

Joshua screamed his lungs off as he tried to run out of the room but the doors slammed shut automatically. Noah had too much pride to scream let alone show his fear but the wetness in his suit said otherwise.

Joshua tried to open the door but failed miserably.

“Help!” He yelled as he banged on the door.

Noah on the other hand saw this as a chance to be the hero as he tried to be slick and grabbed the chair before hitting Lily hard on the head.

“Well now that was just plain rude, didnt your mother ever teach you to never hit a lady.” Lily said unaffected by his hit.

Thats when Noah began to tremble on the spot.

‘Go easy on them they did nothing wrong,’ Lila said.

“Oh how soft you’ve become, lesson one to remind you is strike before you openent strikes,” Lily said as she walked towards Noah with a devious smirk.

She froze the humans in place.

“Boy am i starving,” Lily said as she slowly cut through Noah’s chest with her bare hand.

She reached his beating heart and slowly pulled it out, tears fell silently down Noah’s face before his body went limb and fell on the floor. Lily took a large chunk of his heart, the flavour exploding in her mouth, she sighed in content as she swallowed the whole piece like a starved man.

“What a delecsy, but i still feel fetish.” Lily said as she licked her hand before she walked towards Joshua who couldnt stop trembling for the life of him.

His eyes begged her to stop but that did nothing to stop Lily from ripping out his heart gently and feasting upon it with great pleasure.

“Now that feels better,” Lily sighed happily.

‘I didnt realize you literally ate human hearts,’ Lila said in shock.

“Dont judge what a demon eats and besides it doesnt have to be just human hearts. Any heart will do as long as its big enough to quench my hunger.” Lily defended herself.

She looked down at Lara who was coming to.

“Perhaps desert is deserved after that hard workout.” Lily smirked.

She lowered herself and slowly pieced Lara’s chest, Lara was frozen in place, her eyes portraying her pain and desperation. Lily pulled out her heart before ripping out one of Lara’s arms and held it over the heart to drench it in more blood.

‘You really love blood dont you?’ Lila asked through narrowed eyes.

“I love human blood dont get it twisted love,” Lily smirked as she devourd the heart.

She held the severed arm over her head and opened her mouth wide, greedily drinking every drop of blood entering her mouth.

“Ah, what a thrill. Im so stuffed.” Lily said as she rubbed her stomach.

Lila began to understand why human food could never quench her hunger.

‘Great now clean up your mess and lets go,’ Lila said urgently.

“Come now whats the rush when theres so many delicious snacks roaming around this place.” Lily said licking her lips.

‘You’ve had enough to eat now lets go,’ Lila ordered through gritted teeth.

“What a party pooper but fine I’ll leave let me just get some take away,” Lily said with a hunger in her eyes before she reached out her hand and the dead bodies vanished.

“Mama raised no food waster,” Lily said as everything in the room went back to its original state.

Lily was no longer drenched in blood before she walked towards the screen.

“It appears we have abit of an issue,” she said with a blank expression on her face, her playful mood disapearing instantly.
