Chapter 2 Eva –
I sat on my couch under my fluffiest blanket watching Netflix, or at least trying to. I was sad and disappointed that Kodan left in the middle of our double date with Lilura and Tyr. The pack was calling him more and more frequently. I was sure it was because his father the alpha was trying to get him to take on more responsibility so he could take over soon. I wasn’t sure where this relationship was going, we hadn’t really defined it as we were dating. We just spent time together, mostly at lunches and having s*x, mind-blowing s*x at that.
I took a deep breath and refocused on Netflix. I watched my show until it was extremely late. I turned off my tv and folded my blanket and headed to my room and got into bed. I could smell Kodan’s scent on my sheets, it had my stomach in butterflies. I scooted to the middle of my bed, so my head was on the edge of my pillow and my nose next to the other pillow with Kodan’s scent on it. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
I wasn’t sure how long I had been asleep for when I heard a knock on my door. I put on my robe and looked through the peephole. Kodan was standing there. I sighed unsure if I should let him in or not. I opened my door to him. He was still wearing his suit, but his tie was undone hanging around his neck.
“What are you doing here Kodan?” I asked.
“Can I come in?” He asked me.
“Sure.” I opened the door wider and let him in.
“I wanted to say I’m sorry for leaving in the middle of dinner like that.” He began.
“It’s fine I understand you have responsibilities with the Pack,” I told him.
“It wasn’t the pack who called me, it was one of my SPS agents. There was a strange attack on a sheep that looked like a wolf or wild dog attack. My agent heard about it from one of our police contacts.” Kodan informed me.
SPS the Supernatural Police Squad Kodan started when he transferred here. Mostly it was werewolves, but I was able to interest my vampires who were already in place in the local police services to join.
“Did you figure out what attacked the sheep?” I asked.
“Looks like it was a wolf, but not a werewolf. I just wanted to explain why I left is all.” Kodan said.
“Alright. Thank you for explaining. Feel free to stay, but I’m going back to sleep.” I told him.
I walked back to my room leaving him standing in my living room. I appreciated him letting me know why he left, but I wasn’t feeling in the mood to forgive him just yet. I got back into bed and closed my eyes, I could hear Kodan walk into my room and take off his shoes and clothes. I felt my bed dip and his warm body slip under the sheets next to me. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me tightly against him. His warmth had me asleep in minutes.
I woke up to the sun filtering through my curtains and Kodan’s hard body pressed against my back. I looked over my shoulder and saw Kodan watching me lust filled his eyes. He kissed me making his large member rub against my ass. A shiver ran down my spine. I loved waking up next to him. That thought made me tense and Kodan kissed me deeper and climbed over me. His sold muscled form barley touching my front had me pressing my back into my bed.
His intense kisses continued and I followed along as one of his hands ran down my chests and stomach easily moving against my silk nightie, until he found the end and ran his hand under the fabric moving it up as he went. I raised myself off my bed just enough for him to pull back from kissing me and take off my nightie tossing it on the ground. He stepped out of his boxers and was over me in seconds kissing my lips, then down my jaw and neck. Making me shiver and forget my thoughts of love, only focusing on the sensations I was feeling.
He made his way to my breasts where one hand squeezed and played with my n****e, his skillful tongue playing with the other. The sensations I felt were thrilling. I ran one hand down his back the other in his beautiful thick hair. Then suddenly he pulled his hot mouth away from my n****e and I shivered at the loss moaning, but he switched sides and now his hand was on the breast his mouth just left. My legs widened for him I wanted to wrap my legs around him and pull him tightly to me, but I resisted. With every skillful lick and bite heated up my core sending little pulses. I moved the hand from his back and squeezed it between us and rubbed my little bud making me jump and press into Kodan’s mouth. He bit a little harder growling.
He moved away from my breast and moved to my core capturing my hand, kissing it before placing it on my stomach. I could feel his hot breath on my already hot core making my legs twitch. Then his tongue darted out of nowhere and I moaned his name and moved the hand on my stomach into his hair where I squeezed his hair in both hands.
Kodan licked and played at my entrance before darting his tongue in again sending a wave of pleasure and another moan from my lips and building up my orgasm. Kodan continued to do this and occasionally he would rub my bud sending shivers down to my toes and having me moan his name. His pace increased and I was on the edge of orgasm, I moan his name louder and breathily told him I was about to c*m. With one last plunge of his tongue and rub of my bud my orgasm hit and shouted his name pleasure rolling through my body. Kodan continued to lick until my orgasm stopped and then he kissed me, and I could taste myself in his mouth.
He pulled away and spread my legs farther apart and teased my entrance with his large hard member. He thrust in sending me shouting his name and hanging on to him tightly. He continued moving at a quick pace running over and over the same spot sending pleasure through my body. My hips rising to meet his. Every time he hit that spot sent me moaning and my orgasm started to build again. I could feel my orgasm coming but before I had the chance to tell Kodan, his own orgasm hit sending me over the edge.
We lay there tangled together when Kodan’s phone rang. He groaned and got off the bed and answered it. I sighed, why did his phone have to ring. I looked at his back and noticed I left some deep scratch marks that were already starting to heal over. I continued to enjoy my view until Kodan finished his call and pulled his boxers back on.
“That was one of my agents. There was another strange incident a zombie sighting according to a human family. Do you want to come with me to investigate? The police didn’t find anything, but maybe we will, and if not, we can go have lunch after.” Kodan said.
“Sure, that sounds interesting. I’ll get ready.” I told him.
I went to my bathroom and took a shower and changed into some black skinny jeans and a flowery top. I went to my kitchen and found Kodan eating some cereal, he had showered and changed as well. He had some clothes at my apartment from when he first moved back to Knoxville. He was wearing blue jeans and a grey t-shirt and his favorite tennis shoes. Kodan handed me a glass of blood and I drank it as he finished eating. I grabbed my phone and purse and we headed down my private elevator and out my building to his car. He drove us to Southern Knoxville to a home of a human family. It was a small home that looked like pictures from the fifties the American dream home with a white picket fence and two and a half kids. We got out of the car and Kodan put on a suit jacket and put on his FBI badge. We knocked on the door and a woman in her early forties answered the door.
“Can I help you?” She asked us.
Kodan showed her his badge. “Yes, ma’am. We received a call from the police about a zombie sighting, we have been tracking a serial killer who likes to dress as a zombie. I was hoping I could ask you a few questions, ma’am?” Kodan asked her really playing up his Tennessee accent.
Living and working so many places Kodan barely had a Tennessee accent. Like me, I had never adopted the accent I was stuck with my British accent forever although no one would even notice I had an accent until I was really mad.
“Yes Sir, anything I can do to help catch a killer and protect my family! Please come in.” The woman said.
“Wonderful!” Kodan cheerfully stated.
We sat on her couch and she poured us some sweet tea.
“Can you tell me about what you and your family saw last night?” Kodan asked after taking a sip of her tea and giving her a dazzling smile.
“Sure, it was about eleven o’clock and we had just finished watching a movie for our weekly family movie night and my son whose twelve went to the kitchen to put the popcorn bowl in the sink looked out the window. Out in our backyard, he saw a zombie and came running into the living room screaming about it. My husband rushed to the kitchen to see what our son saw while I tried to calm him down. My husband came back and said, ‘Lisa you should call the police.’ So, I went to the kitchen to look for myself not believing my son or husband and in the garden was a zombie. So, I ran to the back door and locked it and called the police.” Lisa told us.
“And what happened when the police came?” Kodan continued to question her.
“Well they sent one guy and he looked around and didn’t see anything and told us it was probably a kid playing a prank,” Lisa explained.
“I see. Do you mind if we take a look?” Kodan asked her.
“Go right ahead. I’m going to call my husband and get a security system installed right away!” Lisa said.
Kodan and I went out her back door into her yard both of us sniffing the air. There was a scent that I was familiar with death, but it was mixed with something else. We walked to Lisa’s garden and followed the sent to her back fence that was hip-high. We looked over and in the bushes was a zombie. I hadn’t even realized they were real. When I lived in New Orleans some voodoo priests used herbs to make a person appear dead for a short time and when they would awaken, they were very suggestable but nothing dead and rotting like a corpse.
“We should call Lilura and Tyr,” I told Kodan.
“Yes, they need to know about this,” Kodan said.
I pulled out my phone and called Lilura.
“Hello?” Lilura answered.
“Hey, how quickly can you get to South Knoxville? I need you and Tyr to come see something.” I asked her.
“About forty minutes. Why what’s going on?” Lilura asked me.
“I’m going to text you that address of a house that Kodan and I are at. We have a real zombie here and the family that saw it last night is human.” I told her.
“Okay, I’m on the way,” Lilura told me and hung up.
I watched the zombie while Kodan went to tell Lisa that our forensic team was on the way and asked her if she and her family could stay at a hotel or friends house for a couple days while they collected evidence. Lisa agreed and packed up her family and left right before Lilura arrived. I was surprised to find that Lilura was alone.
“Where is this Zombie?” Lilura asked excitedly.
I pointed over the fence and she looked over.
“Whoa, that really is a zombie!” She exclaimed. “What do you want to do with it?”
“We should probably kill it. I told the family that lives here a serial killer dressed as a zombie is on the loose. I’ll tell them it was just a kid once we collect evidence and get rid of the zombie.” Kodan told Lilura.
“Okay well, this shouldn’t be too difficult,” Lilura said. I watched as she made gestures in the air mouthing Latin words softly. Her eyes were closed, and I could smell the faint charged smell of her magic pulsing through her. When she opened her eyes, they were an electric blue and a flash of light erupted from her fingertips and turned the zombie into a cloud of putrid dust. Lilura looked startled but then turned her face expressionless.
When the zombie was destroyed Lilura looked at her watch and bit her lip.
“I have to leave I need to meet Erika for some training I’ll see you two later,” Lilura told us and rushed to her truck.
“So, lunch?” Kodan suggested.
“Sure!” I smiled.
I thought it was interesting that Kodan could still eat after we destroyed the zombie, it was really gross the way it exploded into dust. Kodan drove us to a café where we ordered lunch. I ordered soup and he ordered a Ruben sandwich. We sat at a table away from other customers, so we had some privacy.
“I was hoping we could talk about our relationship, and what exactly we are doing?” I asked Kodan. He stiffened instantly.
“I am really loving what we are doing spending time together and having mind-blowing s*x, but it feels like what I used to do when I was with Marcus when we were on a break. I don’t want to do that anymore.” I told him.
Kodan growled quietly. “I don’t want you to think of me as a lover so you can just go back to Marcus. It's just more complicated than any relationship I’ve been in.”
“Complicated how?” I asked him. “I like you; you like me. What’s the problem?”
“The problem is I’m next in line to be Alpha and you are second in command of your Clan. My father is already trying to set me up with she-wolves.” Kodan told me.
I crossed my arms, I didn’t like that, not one bit. “The problem is you don’t think a werewolf and vampire can be together and that your pack will never accept me as you mate.” I ground out.
“I am concerned about that yes.” Kodan began before I cut him off.
“Don’t you think vampires and werewolves are past this yet? We have been coexisting together in the modern world for a while now. If anything, this could bring our groups together.” I told him.
“I hope both groups are past this, but I still worry that they might not be. As for mates, we just started this relationship I don’t want to add pressure to you thinking you might have to leave the clan and rule the pack with me.” Kodan said.
“That brings up a good point you expect me to leave my clan and my duties so I can rule with you. I don’t want to leave my clan. I can perform all my duties and be with you by your side, it is called delegation.” I said. I was angry that he suggested I leave my clan.
“No that’s not what I meant; I don’t want you to change your life for me I don’t want you to feel like you have to leave your clan to be with me.” Kodan quickly explained.
Then a light bulb went off. “Is that what you are afraid will happen to you, that you will have to leave your pack to be with me?” I asked.
“I.” Kodan stammered. “Yes.”
“I don’t want you to do that either and I won’t let them push you out of your pack for being with me,” I told him.
Kodan grabbed my hand that I had placed firmly on the table when I was angry about what he said and Kodan squeezed it tightly.
“Thank you,” Kodan said.
Kodan paid and we left, we hadn’t eaten our food at all, we were so wrapped up in our conversation.
