"Kelly, maybe we shouldn't, they seem like they're leaving." one of the employees accompanying Kelly said on their way to Raven's office. "Let's just go home."
Kelly shook her head and looked at the door. "They're still here. They said downstairs that Hestia hasn't gone out yet. I just need to make sure, who knows what seduction she's doing to Sir."
Camile beside her sighed. "Kelly, you really don't want to give up on Sir. I've told you, just like what the other employees here say that Sir Raven is—"
"Shhh! I believe he's not like what they gossip about. Anyway, just stop being annoying. You can go down there if you don't want to accompany me."
Camile had no choice since she was already there. So, she just followed Kelly, who had already entered the receiving area. Hestia wasn't there and it seemed like she was inside Raven's office, so they walked closer to the door.
"Kelly… I have a bad feeling—"
"Shhh! be quiet, they might hear us. We'll just peek." Kelly silenced Camile before slowly opening the office door and both of them peeked inside the small space by the door.
And when they looked inside, they witnessed what was happening in Raven's office, as they saw Hestia on her knees, with her face in between Raven's thighs while he stood up. They couldn't see what she was doing, but they saw his head moving up and down, and nothing came to their minds except for one thing. It was a shock that almost made their jaws drop to the floor because they never expected to see such a thing.
They quickly closed the door and leaned against the wall, still unable to believe what they had just witnessed.
"Oh my god, what are they doing?" Camile asked, her eyes still wide.
"What else do you think they're doing?" Kelly replied with a shocked expression on her face. It was evident on her face that she was surprised, dismayed, and heartbroken by what she saw. She couldn't accept what she had witnessed. "He's unfaithful. Sir is unfaithful!" she said, almost in tears, and then she stood up and left the office. Camile immediately followed her.
---
Hestia's eyes widened when she realized what was in front of her. She looked up and quickly stood up before Raven could even say her name. Embarrassment was evident on her face.
‘That's it, I'm sure Sir is going to fire me! You’re really not thinking, Hestia!’
"Ms. Coronel—"
"Sir! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" she said, her face turning red. She didn't realize that her face was already in a compromising position.
"Don't talk, and please calm down," he ordered her before moving away and sitting in his swivel chair.
To avoid causing any more embarrassing situations that could really get her fired, she calmed down and sat on the vacant chair across from Raven.
"First of all, you're not fired," Raven said to her shortly after.
She couldn't believe what he said. She breathed a sigh of relief and a wide smile appeared on her boss' face. "Really, Sir? I'm not fired?" she asked.
Raven nodded. "You're not fired from your job right now. Just make sure you do your job properly in the coming days. Because if not, I might not give you another chance," he added.
Hestia gave Raven several nods. She felt an overwhelming happiness, especially since she found out that she wasn't actually fired from her job. She was deeply worried because she didn't know what would happen to her if she lost this job.
"Sir, I promise! You won't regret giving me this chance. I promise, Sir. I will do my job properly, I won't be late for meetings, and especially, Sir, I won't put sugar in your coffee," she said to her boss.
Raven sighed because of what Hestia said. He wanted to apologize for throwing the coffee, but he also thought that if he didn’t, she might become too comfortable with him. He wanted his secretary to stay because he couldn't handle taking care of his messy schedule anymore. But he still wanted to keep a boundary between them, especially since he didn't like a secretary who felt too close.
"Don't worry about what happened to the coffee," Raven said, looking at her. "I only want you to do your job, so let's talk about your job. Listen to me, not to anyone else, because I know you talked to the other employees here. Specifically, Sandra," he said.
Hestia nodded and lowered her head. "Sir, it's not because I'm being bitter or making an issue, but I'm annoyed with Ms. Sandra. She was the one who oriented me about my job. She was the one who said that you wanted sugar in your coffee, and I believed her. It's just frustrating because I thought she was nice, but it seems like she did it on purpose."
Raven's forehead wrinkled, as if realizing what Sandra had done that had become a headache for him. Sandra insisted on transferring here to become his secretary, but he refused because he didn't want Sandra's presence. Aside from being chaotic at work and not being able to do her job properly, he knows that Sandra is trying to flirt with him. But he's not interested in Sandra, he wants her to be professional, and clearly Sandra can't do that.
"Okay, I get it," Raven said to Hestia. "Ms. Coronel, just a simple advice, don't trust anyone. Not even me. If you do that, you'll last in your job, wherever it may be. The ways here in New York are different. If you're weak, you won't last. If you keep crying, nothing will happen to you. People will just swallow you up."
Hestia nodded in response.
Hestia fell silent and bowed her head. She knew that. That's how she felt since she arrived in New York. And she has already experienced it with Sandra.
"Since it seems that Sandra told you everything, let me tell you what you should and shouldn't do."
Hestia nodded and listened to Raven. Raven had a serious expression while speaking, so she just listened to make sure she would keep this job.
"You are my secretary, so do nothing but your job. Organize my schedule properly. You have nothing else to do but that and the reports I will assign to you. I don't want any tardiness. I need you here in the office at 8 am sharp. If there's a board meeting or any important event, I come in early, so I want you to be here at least 30 minutes before your time. Don't worry, you can leave at 5 pm. I won't ask for overtime unless it's really important. Aside from that, nothing else. I want someone serious about their work and not worrying about other things, because if I see that you're not doing your job properly, I won't hesitate to fire you. Clear?"
Hestia nodded repeatedly. "Yes, Sir, crystal clear."
"Good, if you have anything to ask, ask me, not other people. Understand?" Raven added before standing up.
"Yes, Sir. Understood."
Raven glanced at his watch then at Hestia before placing the paper that had fallen earlier in front of her.
That was Hestia's cash advance, and although there was no amount written, it was signed by Raven.
"S-Sir..." Hestia stammered, holding the cash advance form that she had been looking for earlier. She couldn't believe that her boss had signed it.
"You dropped it earlier. Submit it to HR tomorrow. It's already past 5. I'm leaving, so you should go home too," he said before walking out of the office.
Before Raven could get too far, Hestia shouted, "Bye, bye, Sir! Thank you again! See you tomorrow!" She happily said while watching her boss leave the room.
Hestia joyfully held the cash advance form with his signature and almost kissed it out of happiness.
