I was grinning widely, I had just gotten a compliment from my Boss, As a human i had to work twice as much at the were wolf dominated office than others who has more strength and stamina than I, to get credit for that is a boost of morale. I stepped out of the elevator just to collide with a wall?.Wow, that's one sturdy... moving wall? I looked up,up,up, and my breath caught in my throat. It wasn’t a wall—it was a person. The person. Aurelian Moon. Am I dreaming?. I looked behind him to see Stella waving frantically, with other colleagues standing and staring. Oh God. "Are you okay?" His deep voice asked, pulling my gaze back to his face, my neck craning up to see him, God he was so tall and huge, he could easily crush me. His eyes were black with gold irises, intense and mesmerizing. And was that an accent? My heart skipped a beat as I struggled to form words. I realized I was still holding onto his arm and jerked away as if his body was on fire, just as the elevator dinged again and I heard my boss’s voice. "Mr. Moon, you're welcome. What a pleasant surprise." I gently moved away, allowing the other executives that followed Mr. Gordon to pile in front of him. His people, the four men from the party, stepped forward as well. I looked back at him, and to my surprise, he was still staring at me. He wore a full black suit that looked way too good on him, his long, black curly hair framing his face deliciously. "Miss Luna?" Mr. Gordon called, noticing that Mr. Moon’s attention was still fixed on me. "Luna," Mr. Moon's deep voice echoed, caressing my name in a way that sent shivers down my spine. He turned away, releasing me from his intense gaze, and followed the executives down the hall. Mr. Gordon gave me a pat on the back before heading after them. "What the hell?!!" Stella whispered loudly, moving to stand in front of me, her eyes wide with disbelief. She leaned in, lowering her voice. "Did you just... What was that?!" I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. I couldn’t help but feel the pull of his presence lingering in the air.what was this feeling?. "I knew it, I knew something was going on," Stella declared, crossing her arms as she flopped into the chair across from my desk. "Shouldn't you be with them?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as I tried to shake off the lingering tension from the encounter with Mr. Moon. "Ugh, right? How cool would that be?" She groaned, dramatically rolling her eyes. "But no, they just told me to write my reports and submit it. Only executives allowed in the meeting. Typical." "And you...what was that??" Stella demanded, her eyes wide as she leaned forward on my desk. "What was what?" I replied, trying to play it cool, though my heart was still racing from the encounter with Aurelian. "The look you and Sexy, hot Alpha were exchanging, your heart is beating quite fast" she said, her voice dripping with excitement. So it wasn’t just in my head, then. "Sexy, hot Alpha really?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, trying not to laugh. "Yes, really!" She practically bounced in her seat. "Are you kidding? He's the hottest man alive, Luna!". "Yes, yes, he's handsome..." I said, trying to downplay it. "Hotly handsome," she interrupted with a grin. "But, there was no look. Besides, no more Were-men for me," I added, shaking my head. It was a new resolution of mine, I wasn't ready for any more complications. She stared at me like I just told her pigs could fly. "Even if that man is Aurelian Moon??... Are you kidding me?" she asked, her voice laced with disbelief. "Stella, I really think we're getting ahead of ourselves here," I replied, a little flustered. She was way too excited about this, and I just couldn't keep up. "Okay then, fine... but you didn't see what I saw," she said, standing up and heading toward the door. "Stella," I called after her. She turned back, pausing in the doorway. "What did you see?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. "It felt like two souls meeting each other for the first time," she said with a mischievous smile. "The gaze was electric." She winked before stepping out of my office, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I rolled my eyes. Yeah, right. It meant absolutely nothing, Luna I told myself. But why were my hands, the same ones that held his arms, still tingling from the touch?. It was closing hours and there was still no sign of Mr Gordon. Were they still having a meeting? I looked down at the file in my hands—he said it was important. I'll just drop it in his office, I decided. I walked down the hall, heels clicking softly against the marble floor, and came to a stop when I saw Mr Gordon and... oh my—Mr Moon—standing right in front of his office, deep in discussion. “Oh, Luna. You’re still around?” Mr Gordon asked, frowning. It was past closing hours. “You said you needed this?” I said, holding the file out. It wasn’t supposed to come out like a question, but a particular pair of black-and-gold eyes were burning through me. Mr Gordon smiled and took the file from my hands. “Ever diligent. Do you need a ride, perhaps?” “No, sir. Goodnight, sir.” I bowed slightly to both of them, turned quickly, and marched right out, pretending I wasn’t flustered to my bones. I got to the elevator and stepped in. The doors were closing when suddenly, a large hand reached in and stopped them. Aurelian. He stepped in silently. His guards made to follow, but then—just as suddenly—stopped, stepped back, and let the doors close. It was just me. Alone. In a metal box. With the Alpha of Alphas. The elevator began its descent, humming softly. “You’re always this diligent?” His voice rolled through the space, deep and rich, that accent lacing through every word like velvet. What was that accent?. It sounded old and rich. I stared ahead, heart thudding. “I try to be,” I replied, hoping my voice didn’t betray the electricity humming through my veins. A pause. “Your scent… it lingers.” I turned my head sharply to look at him. He was already watching me with that same unreadable intensity. “I don’t mean to startle you,” he said softly, “but you’re… different.” I swallowed. “Different how?" Before he could answer, the elevator dinged at the ground floor.
