After posting some photos of roses and a few selfies on her social media accounts, Elena returned to her apartment following a chat with her editor. She tidied up a bit, glanced at the marks on her body with a slight grimace, and finally decided to lie back down, turning off her phone and burying herself under the covers for a deep sleep.
As expected, her body was still sore. She felt somewhat tired even after waking up. Forcing herself into the bathroom, she filled the tub with warm water and sank into it, letting out a long sigh of relief.
Under the rippling water, the bruises and ambiguous marks on her body seemed magnified.
Recalling Klaus' comment that Catherine wasn't his girlfriend, Elena suddenly felt the need to get to the bottom of it. So, she directly dialed Klaus' number.
