Farewell

Today is the best day of my life. As I have gathered all the single bit of courage to confess and act upon my feelings.

Today I am going to tell him.

Farewell's are always emotional but in my case today my life will change if he accepts and reflects my feelings than I'll be at moon seven but if he doesn't feel the same then I'll be free and will heal with the passing time.

Thinking this I got up. I barely slept last night as the thoughts of how today will go occupied my head. I picked my phone it was already 6 in the morning and I had to meet Elena at 8 . I rushed to bathroom to clean up and do my daily chores.

I'm not the only child of my parents but since I'm the only girl in our family I'm most loved and pampered. Other than my parents my uncle and aunt also love me a lot as they don't have a daughter they love me like their own. I have three brothers and I love them all equally Mark is my sibling and Adam and Peter are my uncle's sons but we are inseparable. Mark is eledest among them but younger than me then is Adam and the youngest is Peter. We love him most.

After cleaning up myself I headed towards my walk-in closet. My mom had got me a surprise dress which was already placed near my dressing table. It was a beautiful black backless dress with a side slit. I quickly did my makeup. And started doing my hair I have decided to curl them and leave them open.

After about an hour or so I have finally complited my makeup and hair. Then I quickly grabed my dress and wore it. I was looking perfect the light pinkish golden makeup was highlighting my features and the slit was showing my toned legs. I was admiring myself just then with a thud the door of my room was wide open. There stood a my beautiful friend. She was wearing a red dress with was perfectly huging her curves.

"You are looking stunning E" I said while grabbing her into a bear hug. She giggled and said "You are looking sexy T. I'm sure Shyne won't be able to turn you down with this look of yours. "

"Yeah hope so " I sighed

" No negative thoughts today we are going to have a blast Tess no matter the outcome of your huge long needed proposal " She said. She has always been a drama queen but what she said it was true the proposal was much needed and long delayed. I just hope that everything goes well and what's best for all of us happens.

" Where are you lost Tess come on we have to go otherwise we'll be late "

With the last glance and grabbing my black heels we went down stairs where mom was waiting for us.

"Oh you look beautiful baby. The dress fits you well. The moment I saw the dress I knew it was made for you "

"Of course it was made for me mom I know it's a custom made dress" I said while huging her.

"But there is something missing in ur look sister" Mark said

" Ugh what's it brother " I replied irritated

He handed me a red box with a beautiful golden ribbon around it. When I opened it I was shocked. Cause I expected it to be some sort of prank more specifically a farewell prank as my brothers never miss an opportunity to prank me.

But to my surprise it was a delicate silver necklace with a beautiful rose pendant in it.

"It's beautiful Mark " I said with a teary eye.

"I'm glad you liked it "

"Are you ready girls " Dad came from the door

"Yes we are " Ele and me said in unison

"You both look beautiful babies " He said

"Thank you" we replied

"Ok let's get going otherwise you'll be late" Dad said. As he was going to drop us to the venue.

We bid mom and Mark bye and left for the venue.

The campus was decorated with golden and white balloons and flowers. Our school was looking beautiful. There was a red carpet for the students. Every chair had name written on it indicating whose seat it was. We saw our name in front row as we were going there Steve came to us.

"You look breathtaking Tessa" He said

Steve was Shyne's best friend they were always together but today Shyne wasn't with him. He must be late I thought

"You too don't look bad yourself " Elena replied snaping me out of my thoughts.

"You look handsome as always Steve" I said

"We have our seats together so let's go " Steve said indicating to our seats.

Our seats were together Steve Shyne Tessa and Elena that was the arrangement when I saw the seating arrangement something felt right but at the same time my heart started to beat fast but this time it was different it wasn't the way it beats when He is near me this time it was out of nervousness. We took our seat as everyone already had taken there seats. But he had not came yet I wanted to ask Steve about Shyne but I couldn't ask. We all took pictures and updated our ig stories with beautiful decor of our campus. Elena was more interested into capturing my perfect photo so that I can update my profile picture.

Then Mr. Woods came on the stage and started the ceremony. It's a tradition of St. Luis that some from the batch get different title. So Mr. Woods started announcing the title. As Mr. Woods called the names that particular pair go together on the stage and collect their title which was inscribed in a beautiful trophy a black man for guys and a black women for girls.

"Miss Perfect is Elena Smith and Mast Prefect is Steve Andreson. Congratulations guys please come on the stage to collect your titles. " Said the host

I shouted Congratulations and kissed E on her cheeks and huged Steve. They looked good together. I really hoped that now they act upon their feelings and make themselves official as they have been on off for past few years now. Still there was no sign of Shyne. My heart sank what if he is not well or worst got into some accident all negative thoughts occupied my head. At the same time he must be sitting somewhere else as he was late of worst to avoid me. That's when I heard the crowd cheering as Elena and Steve were walking the ramp. I also jointed them and started cheering for both of them.

"Love you guys, looking best together" I shouted while other joined me looking best together looking best together. After that they came to their seats with a remarkable smile on their faces. There was some sort of happiness on Elena's face which was too adorable to watch she was blushing and her face was red like a tomato.

"Last and most awaited title of tonight Miss and Mast. St. Luis. , any guesses guys" Host said

There were many name coming up everyone wanted themselves or their freind to win it.

" Not to disappoint you all Miss St. Louis goes to Tessa Carter and Mast St. Louis goes to Shyne Black. Congratulations guys" As soon as the host completed his sentence Elena gave me I told you so look and both E and Steve huged me together. I went to stage and stood there as Mr. Woods gave me my title I was looking for Shyne everywhere I thought he must have seated somewhere else as to ignore me but I snaped out of my thoughts when Mr. Woods cleared his throat and begin to speak

" Miss Carter is the most deserving candidate for this title because she has earned it with years. But Mast. Black is the gem of our institution as he is not present here because he is playing cricket and representing our state and we are all proud of him also I'm sorry Miss Carter you'll have to accept the titles for both of you. " After hearing I couldn't move I was nub I couldn't feel my legs and everything around me was crushing down the ultimate motive for my farewell. I really thought that this day will change my life and I'll have a new beginning but that won't happen because he wasn't here but at the same time I was glad and proud of him.

" Please Tessa we insist if you'll say something " The host said and gave me the mic

" This is the best moment of my whole school life. The amazing school, amazing journey, amazing teachers and above all I have a true friend Elena I guess I'm most fortunate and lucky to have her. And the cherry on the cake I'm honoured to share this title with Shyne he is not here but when he watches the recording of ceremony Shyne I want you to know you are a beautiful soul and a really good guy I wish you all the very best for your future and I hope you achive everything that you desire for. May God give you more than you ask. Thank you guys loads of love and good wishes for you all I wish all the very best for ur future plans. Yeah thankyou" I said with a fake smile on my face but my eyes filled with tears.

I walked on the ramp and everyone cheered for me but I felt that emptiness in me which I think will never fill again. With a heavy heart and for Elena I went to the after party because I was leaving soon for my Med school and she was leaving for her Architecture course so I wanted to spend as much time as I can with her.
