~*~*~ "Danny. Danny. Daniel wake up." I woke up to see Timothy looking down at me. His light blue eyes shining with excitement as he stood by my bedside. "Let's go play outside dude. Are you going to sleep forever?" Sam, who'd been standing by the door added, his eyes too glowed with a mesmerizing blue that would rival that of a summer sky. "Wow." I said sleepily, " I never realized you guys had such blue eyes." "Wake up man. Let's go outside!" Tim insisted. I peeled my blankets off me and as soon as they left I felt a cold breeze swoosh in and send shivers dancing through my body. I looked to the source of the wind. The white curtain that decorated my room flailed in the air as more wind broke in through the open window. I walked over, closed the window and before I could close the curtains, I caught a glimpse of the stars sparkling in the night sky. After a second look for confirmation I turned back to my friends; "It's too dark to play outside guys. I'm going back to sleep." I said. "No!" Tim jumped in front of me to stop me from reaching my bed. "You promised you'd play with us man, come on." "I did?" "I told you Danny didn't care. He just says these things. His promises mean nothing. Let's go play on our own Tim." Sam said as he disappeared from the door. "I thought you were better than this Danny." Tim followed. "Okay fine. I'm coming." I reluctantly followed the two outside. * "What are we playing anyways?" I asked. The air was cold and foggy. I could barely see Tim and Sam even though they stood within an arm's reach. Only their eyes were visible. Their glowing blue eyes. Since when did my friends have blue eyes? And the fog... where was is it coming from? I could've sworn i saw stars when I looked out the window. The wind had stopped blowing, was it even ever blowing? I realized that ever since I came out I had not felt the breeze that had blown through the window. What on earth was going on? "Guys...I think I'll go back inside. It's getting kind of creepy out here." I announced. They kept quiet and kept their eyes on me. Why were their eyes flippin' blue? The night had become eerily silent. Not even crickets chirped. The only sound I could hear was a slow and steady drip dropping of water that must have been leaking from a pipe. The geyser must've been busted again. That thought was quickly dismissed as Tim took a step forward. Instinctively I took one backwards. "Okay this is not funny guys. You are starting to scare me." I said. Sam took a step forward. "Guys..." The dripping of water topped as suddenly as it had started. That made no sense... "This is not funny! Stop it." I was getting frustrated. Both of them took another step forward. Allowing fear to completely grab hold of me, I turned and ran. Yes, this was the only way. Suddenly it all became clear, well, one thing became clear and it was that I had to get away. I pumped my hands like my coach had told me. The faster you pump your hands the faster your legs move. He'd said. And so i pumped. Shrubs brushed roughly against my ankles and my bare feet crunched upon the leaves and twigs that found themselves in my way. Blurry objects which must've been trees zoomed past me. There was no way those guys were catching up to me. That's when I heard their footsteps. They were gaining on me. With each step I took they took two. Maybe that was because there were two of them. I pumped faster, breathed faster. I could do this. Hanging branches swatted at my face and my skin stung from the sweat that entered the cuts. I didn't know we had this much bush in our yard? A hand brushed against my back. I felt it desperately try to grab hold of my pajama top but fail. I was still in my pajamas. Their thick trousers made it hard to run. Trapping air and tripping me at random intervals. I had to get away. The thought reverberated in my head. Get away! Get away! GET AWAY! There was a log just up ahead of me. At this rate my pants would latch onto it and I'd fall. I couldn't let that happen, so I jumped. Jumped up as high as I could go. Now I was in the air. So far up in the air that no one could touch me. I was flying! I saw my pursuers down below still running. Theirs glowing eyes still traced at me. Waiting for me to come down. Gravity started acting again. I tried to stay up in the air. Using every ounce of will i could muster to keep myself afloat. All to no avail. I started descending. I could see the ground getting closer and closer with each passing second. I was going to fall to my death. Bracing myself for Impact, I closed my eyes. I fell faster and faster. Air rushing past my ears as I plunged towards my end. * I jumped out of bed! Sweat pouring out my pours like fountains of water. My pajama was drenched. My heart was pounding like a drum. My head throbbing. "What's up?" Tim, who had been standing beside my bed, asked. "I had the strangest- " I stopped short when I noticed his eyes starring at me. Those glowing blue eyes. I looked at the window. A cold breeze blew in, making the curtain flail as it passed. Stars shone like gems in the distant sky. "Sam...?" Sam appeared at the door. "Yeah, what's up?" His eyes sparkled blue with excitement as he responded. I wasted no time. I pounced out of my blankets and within a moment Sam was shoved out of the way and I was outside. Running. This time I pumped faster, breathed faster and ran faster. They were not catching up to me. ~*~*~
