Preston Royce didn’t technically work in Rose Hollow. He worked in a law firm one town over, an hour and a half drive away. Becky didn’t know why she was surprised by this, but she found it strange.
He had too much power, she thought. She had heard over and over that Preston Royce was the richest man in Rose Hollow. Becky wondered why this was—why they didn’t choose to live in the town where his firm was, Daisy Harbour. Although when she thought about it, she wouldn’t want to live in a place called Daisy Harbour. The name of the place was too nice, too clean, too… sweet.
