Raphael had made a promise to her, but Corale's feelings of anxiety couldn't be shaken off even after she arrived at the England airport.
The first thing Corale did was send a message to Raphael about her situation, then ask their parents' condition because previously they couldn't take her to the airport to work as usual to trick Victor's family.
They didn't even tell Gael about this.
Corale felt guilty, earlier she had made a promise to go to Strasbourg to see Gael's college today. She knew he will be disappointed in her, what's more, her number had been changed, and even her email.
"I hope he understands," Corale whispered with a sad expression as she read Raphael's reply regarding their family. She breathed a sigh of relief knowing things were fine there.
'I have to be strong, for my family and myself.'
Corale cheers herself up before exiting the airport looking for her mother's friend, Zara. She looked here and there looking for a woman who had promised her before she left for England.
So far, all she could see were people walking fast or cars passing by.
Corale tightened her grip on the pink suitcase containing the clothes she was carrying. She doesn't know that Zara is often late, her mother didn't tell her this.
'I can speak English, but ...'
Corale is afraid if she goes straight to her father's house, Zara arrives here and is disappointed to know that she is not there.
'I'll wait a little longer. Maybe Mrs. Watson is stuck in traffic.'
***
Corale let out a tired breath.
An hour has passed, and there is no sign of Zara going to show up, not even the messages she sent get no reply.
Corale lost hope and was getting tired of standing by watching strangers pass by, wishing they had Zara. She couldn't wait any longer, the taxi driver kept offering her a ride too.
'I'll text Mrs. Watson that I'll go home alone.'
Corale took her cell phone, started typing a message for her mother's friend, but when she was about to send it, she was interrupted by a cheerful, feminine scream.
"Miss Corale~! Is that you?"
Corale stopped to tilt her head. Not far from her, there was a young woman with long brown hair in a ponytail waving her hand in a friendly manner, her dress which looked like a maid dress strikingly caught the attention of several people.
'Is there a cosplay festival or something?'
But the beautiful young woman who was almost the same height as she didn't seem confused, instead continuing to wave at her. Corale glanced around, then pointed to herself whether the 'Corale' in question was her.
The young woman nodded once, then approached with a sweet smile on her lips, "Miss Corale Vincent. Right?"
Corale refuses to answer because she doubts the woman in front of her is Zara. She remembers very well the body structure and face of her mother's friend.
"Sorry for being rude," the woman realized it scared Corale, "I'm Vega, the maid in your house, Miss Corale."
"Maid ...?" Corale muttered awkwardly. As far as she remembers, neither her biological father nor her mother ever said they had a maid named Vega.
"Yes~" Vega said cheerfully, "I came to pick you up because Mrs. Watson has other important business to attend to."
"Oh," Corale muttered in disappointment. It's obvious why Zara is still hasn't shown up and her messages are not being replied to. If she couldn't do it from the start, why did she agree to take her home?
"Please don't think negatively, Miss Corale," said Vega sympathetically, "Mrs. Watson would love to see you, but because of the suddenness of her business she can't."
Corale looked at Vega who was looking straight at her with sincerity in her eyes. She carved a small smile, "I'm not mad."
Vega smiled too, "Then let me take you, Miss Corale~ let me carry your suitcase~" she said cheerfully.
"Eh? No need," Corale refused, but Vega grabbed her hand, led her into a black car which she believed belonged to her father, "Vega ...!"
Vega put his index finger on Corale's lips, "Shh," she whispered, "I'm stronger than you think. No need to worry~!"
Corale didn't protest anymore, let Vega carry her two suitcases, put them all in the back of the car.
Vega got into the car, sat in the driver's seat, "I'm sure you will be comfortable living in England, Miss Corale~! How about we go around first? See how beautiful the city of Oxford is~?"
Go around first? Good idea, but Corale wants to go to her father's house first to put her luggage, and if Vega knew where her father's final resting place is, she wants to go there to pray.
Unfortunately, Corale couldn't answer the offer, Vega had already stepped on the gas pedal, speeding through a busy Oxford city.
***
"So~? Beautiful, isn't it~?"
Corale didn't answer, busy clinging to the body of the car as her legs were shaking and her head was spinning.
Vega, who saw Corale's 'pathetic' condition, scratched her reddened cheek awkwardly, "I think I'm too excited."
Corale just looked at Vega tiredly.
Since when can speeding be called excited?
"This is my second time driving a car~ it's good every once in a while," Vega explained as she clenched her fists to suppress the adrenaline that was still in her body.
What a pleasant experience.
Corale muttered gloomily. No wonder Vega's way of driving is like a raging horse. Because of this too, she couldn't enjoy the view of Oxford city as she continued to cling to horror at the way Vega drove, "Next time, don't count me in." she still loves her life, and doesn't want to pay a huge amount of health insurance.
It was also very fortunate that there were no Police to stop them considering that Vega had several times violated traffic.
Vega smiled awkwardly, then helped Corale walk through the small garden towards her 'new' house, "I will make a special tea for you as an apology, Miss Corale~"
"Hm ..." Corale just mumbled disinterestedly. The experience of being a 'tourist' was not good, she was not enthusiastic about the things Vega has to offer.
"Why are you taking so long?"
Eh?
"Where have you been, Vega?"
A deep and firm voice stopped Corale and Vega's slow footsteps instantly.
Vega let go of her hand on Corale's body as support, "I'm taking a little tour to Miss Corale. There's no other purpose, Vyrion."
Vyrion ...
Corale's aqua blue eyes locked onto the young man dressed as a butler complete with white gloves. She was amazed to see his handsome face, but what caught her attention the most was the color of his eyes which looked red ... ruby? Does he wear contact lenses? Looks beautiful and cool at the same time.
"Vyrion ..." Vyrion muttered disapprovingly, before turning his eyes towards his new potential 'friend'.
Corale gasped for a moment before averting her gaze shyly caught admiring Vyrion in secret.
Vyrion gritted his white teeth, not liking Corale's response.
"Ah ...! I forgot to introduce our new 'princess'," Vega hastily said before the situation turned even hotter, "I'm sure you already know who this beautiful lady is, right~?"
Corale glanced at Vyrion again and looked down again shyly to find that he was still looking at her. Her heart was pounding strangely, scared and excited at the same time? She didn't understand.
"I'm sure you know," Vega emphasized again, her tone more intimidating so that Vyrion realized he had made Corale uncomfortable just from his glare alone.
Vyrion let out a small sigh and finally introduced himself formally as promised, "Welcome home, Miss Corale. Please, let me introduce myself. I'm Vyrion, the head butler here. We've been waiting for you all this time."
