I got lost in the thought of how my life would look once I married the lady who sat in the carriage. It would be only her, and he would be bound to make her happy since the Sade’s controlled our army’s and if they turned towards the snakes neither of them would stay alive.
Ignoring the fact as I had been for my entire life I decided to move on. There was nothing I would get after worrying myself to death.
The fact that she was happy with me was satisfactory and I was ready to move with her as long as the Sade’s where by my brothers side and I won’t create any trouble regarding the affairs of the kingdom.
I was okay. Lies, my heart told me but who was he to argue with the brain who thought of the possible and most reasonable incidents.
Not a relatively long journey but once we reached there I felt like going back home because I regretted the decision I made instantly to hear what Eloise had to say and turns out I forgot to ask about the matter. It would be a great problem if someone found out about the kill and especially my brother would be angry on me and would ask who killed it since I don’t walk armed with the dagger this early in the morning.
He would doubt that it was me who did the deed and would instantly know by looking at me that it wasn’t me. Oh, god I was going nuts.
I should have cancelled the plan and said I wasn’t feeling well for I could not go but this daughter of the minister just got to my nerves that time that I had to accept it and she got very close to me which was exactly what I hated the most. I did not like people intruding my personal space.
Besides the fact that she had been with me her entire life and I would have known about her a lot more that she thought but she did not know a slightest bit about me because if she did she would have understand me and respect my needs but she never seemed to care. And she would have seen how much I hated her for just gushing in to my life as a fiancée and a wife.
And before I knew it she was beside me holding on to my arm and telling me to come along with her since she wanted to skate with me.
“The same old routine.” She demanded after we got to wear the special shoes. I helped her on to the ground and standing there was an elf man.
“Did you check it before our arrival?” I asked just to be sure. The ice arena was closed to the public today since Arthur sent the words before of our arrival.
I held her waist as we did the dance which was meant to be slow but we liked it fast and moving, just like the life. It moved and twisted before you even know.
I spun her around and then she was standing before me too close, I went hesitant with my hold but she managed to hold on to me before I let her fall.
I had forgotten that Blaze and Eloise were with us just when they started to clap to show their appreciation. I moved away almost instantly.
My hands were sweaty even in this cold temperature. I wiped it with the fabric of my breeches as I turned to them viewing their faces plastered with a big smile.
I moved away hesitant of the applause. While Cora stayed there with a smile on her face. A seating arrangement was done for us outside the block while Eloise and Blaze decided to skate.
“Would you.” They must have had a conversation before because Blaze instantly decided when Eloise hand went to the hilt of her sword.
They were both confident unlike me who thought a million times before I attempted to do something. They both stepped in to the ground with swords drawn. Both blindfolded, Blaze decided to charge first he had his blade aiming for her head which was what he always did even fighting with me.
While Eloise stood her ground until her opponent was not near.
“They look so into each other.” Cora interrupted. And I had to divert my attention to her too understand what she mentioned.
She spun but Blaze being the too skilled fighter took the hold of her moves. Eloise back against his chest and his blade inches away from her neck while her weapon held it away.
I saw a smirk flicker on his lips before Eloise head kicked him in the front while her foot smashed his beneath and he wailed in pain, his nose bleeding crimson.
“Eloise.” He tried to stay calm as he wiped the blood from the back of his hand.
“Arthur should appoint her as his secret…” and before he could speak more I warned him with the stare.
“I was saying personal in charge for the newly appointed army.”
“He thought that before you.” Eloise said coming to stand beside him as she slipped her sword back in its position.
“I told you she was the hard one.” I said. As Blaze nodded.
We walked away and I heard a light sound of c***k and on the other end was Eloise.
“Don’t move” I warned her. As I steadied my steps across. Horror filled my eyes as she did not seem to obey me and took her steps with the c***k increasing in size.
“Eloise.” My words almost lost in my throat.
“Prince Keres, please don’t try to safe me.” He saw emotions filling those hollo eyes.
“Are you crazy?” I was amazed I shouted.
“Don’t you understand? Blaze hold his highness back.” And he did he followed her command. I struggled, he did not let go of me and he hold was hard.
She took the step, she might have thought she could walk away with this but she was wrong. The ice cracked open, she fell in it the water splashed and I freed myself from my friends hold and jumped in.
She did not know how to swim because she had lost herself. Her arms falling to her sides.
Her hand left me before I grabbed it again and pulled her to me. Asena’s eyes closed.
Once we were out she owed me any explanation I told myself. Before the second thought my lips found hers, I puffed air in her mouth. Her eyes opened she did not struggle beneath my hold rather let me swim us up.
Once we were on the ground the guard came with a fox fur cloak that I preferred to put on her. I slapped her face lightly and called her name but she wasn’t near waking up.
“My prince.” I knew who the voice belonged to.
“Princess Utara.” I nodded my head in confirmation.
The elf princess was stunning with her sparkly magic green eyes like the leaves of the vine and the dark complexion she carried with grace, blonde hairs tied low in a ribbon while a crown embedded with elven gem set around her head.
"Her presence is strong. I could feel her aura from far away. It compelled me to walk here. If you allow I can help you. She is not dead but fighting it.” She informed.
Her figure kneeled down on the ice, her legs folded under her. She raised up her arm her hand moving in the air as she attempted the elven magic, spell of healing.
The elf princess asked me silent question that I promised would be answered later.
No words but a chat between the eyes, an argument that was never supposed to be spoken.
I walked away in the cubicle as the maid offered to take out the clothes from the pack. "If you must know she is no..." Eloise coughed. Water leaving her mouth.
Her eyes pulled open enough for the hue of her orbs to be seen before they shut closed and her face moved to right.
"Thank you ..." I said.
“Uttara." She completed.
Eloise got up, her lips move. Before I could take Eloise hand to help her to her feet Cora fit hers in mine and sticking to my side. I asked her go to the chamber for a little heat up while I talked to the princess about our stay in her castle as her place was closer than where we came from.
Sitting before the fire place in the block and chatting which was mostly between Blaze, Eloise and Cora. I stared outside at the night sky, the stars that were so rare to be seen now.
Once in a while when my dear fiancé noticed me quietly observing she would sit back her hands gripping my upper arm and a smile on her face. Then after a moment the care would vanish away and she would be laughing as per the antiquities the royals had been taught. Her hand on her mouth as a light sound left her
I watched Eloise whose presence was effective on people around her and she did not seem to know how much effect she had on them, care free she was but there was a shelter that hid her feelings while the others were bound to express them. While I watched her she caught my eyes and her smile faded away. I wanted to inquire about the wolf disappearance and something about her gaze told me there was nothing to worry about but at that moment it really felt like she was troubled by the disappearance.
“Are you alright.” She silently mouthed the words as I nodded. Cora fell asleep on my arm and it was uncomfortable for me since I had been sitting in that position for about two hours. Blaze went out for some important business that he did not had the chance to tell me.
“I am sorry to trouble you for the morning.” She said.
“It is okay.” I assured. And a flicker of emotions faded away almost instantly.
“It’s late so we won’t be returning to the castle. The elf minister has arranged us the rooms.” I told her.
She did not looked at least bothered about the change of plan.
“I won’t join you.” Eloise said.
“May I know the reason miss Eloise.”
“Just because.” She did not hesitate to look in to my eyes, no fear no reluctance.
“You are my responsibility and I owe you protection.” A mocking laugh left her.
“Nobody can assure my protection except for myself.” I knew she was going to leave but before she did I carefully rested Cora’s head on the cushion as I slipped from beneath her hold and walked to the sword’s girl.
“And where would you go.” I asked her. But she just looked into my eyes like I was the first person to ask her multiple questions.
“I don’t know?” she said. “Maybe wander in the wood of the Wasadonia.”
“What about the dead body of the wolf?” I inquired.
“A friend of mine saw it and buried it, nothing to worry about.” She assured me but it felt like there was more to the story but I didn’t push her to elaborate.
“And what got in to you when I asked you not to move and you just kept moving.” I stopped to look at her.
“I don’t want anyone to protect me.” She said.
“And what were the results.” My eyebrow lifted.
“I fell in to the cold water.”
“And was that a win, you could accept some help at times.” She stared in my eyes.
“I thought you would understand how it felt to be ordered around.” I was shocked by her statement.
“I was not ordering you around.” I said.
“You sounded like.” She pulled her hairs away from her face.
“I was freaking worried, ok. I was afraid you’d fall in.”
“That was fair but I don’t need the worry.” There was silence in the moment, stories of her life she wasn’t ready to let go. The stillness in the second made it awkward so I had to turn from her and continue the walk. After a few steps I assured her presence before me but she still stood there where I left her.
“You are going with us.” I demanded and for a reply she just nodded and headed to the cubicle.
